I must say as a newer 2014 Multi owner I find your videos extremely helpful and very well put together. Thank you for doing these videos.

Hi Nathan. Your very welcome. I started the multistrada series for exactly that reason... you see, when I started looking in 2018 for a new bike I couldn't find the info i wanted in one place, so now 3 years later I thought why not give something back... hence the series and the hope that future owners of these wonderful bikes might gain a little from what I and other owners have experienced. Also many long term owners have contributed comments and shared the upgrades they have done... which all adds to helping new owners find the info they need. Best wishes Carl

Hi Desmo P, welcome to the channel, I think there are many motorbike detailing videos already. The "Missenden Flyer" has several good ones Andy keeps all his bikes looking like new. Carl

Great series. Came across your channel as I try to decide on my new bike. Hurricane in Florida destroyed my 2022 1250RT. I'm trying to decide if I replace the rt.....or go 1250gsa / V4 rally. Interesting glitch with your right foot during the rain. I love the V4 rally.....but the shaft drive on the bmw may win!!! Your thoughts????
@justthewayitis Жыл бұрын
Hi Frederico it’s a nice problem you have !!! Both are fabulous motorbikes so my advice is to Road test both ideally the same day or within a few days of each other. And hopefully on the same roads that you normally ride. The V4 is the more sporty option but both are very good. Have you looked at depreciation valves in Florida ? It might not be a concern for you but here in Europe the BMW holds its value very well. What type of riding do you do ? Is it one or two up ? Do you go on long tours ? Dealerships location? Let me know Carl

@@justthewayitis mainly paved roads rider....occasional gravel road. Try to do 1 or 2 like Iong trips a year. USA based but also do tours abroad where I'd rent a bike for that trip. The RT was a great touring bike.....just looking to mix things up a bit. Love the boxes engine and shaft drive....but there is something about that V4 Rally!!!! Always solo riding!!!! My trips are usually 2-3 weeks long. Occasional camping but as I age I'm getting spoiled with hotels!

You said that you would get internal bags for the panniers other than the Ducati original. What internal bags were you thinking of?
@justthewayitis Жыл бұрын
There are quite a few on eBay that have an additional compartment above the main bag inner on the right hand side bag. (above exhaust) Providing more storage. And the bags are a little larger allowing for more storage. Carl

Hi, me again. I see you switch between having the top box and not. When you remove the frame work for the box. What do you replace instead of the bolts? Are they the little plastic arrow pieces? Or do you just have and open nut? Cheers. Still chasing the misfire too. Cheers for the assistance
@justthewayitis2 жыл бұрын
Yes I use bolts, I ordered Titanium ones from ebay. I use bolts to keep the threads clean and clear. Removing and refitting the frame becomes very quick and easy after a few goes. Dont forget to use bolts on the foot peg pannier mounting points if you choose to remove these too. That area gets very dirty fast. Carl

Have you tried adding additional bags to this pannier /top box system ?? I know with the square metal panniers it’s much easier to add luggage but interested to find out if possible to add to these irregular shaped panniers . Tia Billy
@justthewayitis2 жыл бұрын
Hi Billy, I have not tried that, but i would think it's much easier with the traditional square boxes. If you need the extra space on top of normal panniers, you probably will benefit from the extra space the square design offers. If i was going on a longer tour, i would probably invest in the square box type system. Carl

There are some soft bags that wrap over the pillion seat, and they might rest on the top of the odd shaped panniers, but I have not tried them. Carl

Do you think the black givi maxia 5 with the red reflector is better quality than the OEM one? Cheapest I can find the oem top case is around 600 eurous...
@justthewayitis Жыл бұрын
Hi Givi make the luggage systems for several manufacturers including Ducati. So the quality is comparable to OEM.I have not tried or used the Maxia 5 but my Givi topbox has been great and I’m very happy with it Regards Carl

Hi there, just picked up a 13 Pikes Peak - does the 48L top case PN 96784210B come with everything needed to mount or do I need to buy the sub rack as well? Thanks and great vids
@justthewayitis11 ай бұрын
Hi, good question, I’m honestly not sure if the PP comes with top case mounting already installed from new. I think it did on all 2011 - 2014 bikes but I’m not 100% sure. You could call any local Ducati dealer and ask the parts department that question , have your chassis number ready. Thank you for your feedback on the series. The PP 2013 is a beautiful motorbike 👍 lucky you. Carl

Hi Carl, what is the speedometer deviation when you do this sprocket change?
@justthewayitis2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I dont have the exact difference, but it's about a 7 mph difference at top speed, so that would indicate approximately 3 mph at around 70mph. So basically its almost not noticeable in terms of speedometer deviation. If you want to be 100% sure, at the end of my video is a website to go to.... where you can check the exact data. Best wishes Carl

Hello, do you know if the 55mm rear socket is the same for a 2019 multistrada 950s? Thank you!
@justthewayitis2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, the 950 and 950s does not use the same style single sided setup as the 1200/1260 series, so no 55mm nut. I believe you have a traditional double sided swing arm, so will most likely need a 36mm bi-hex socket, but check your manual first. Carl

I just purchased a 2012 ABS model. It has no top case on it but I am looking to purchase one(used). I have 4 screw holes on the back of my bike,do I have to buy a special adapter plate along with the official case?
@justthewayitis Жыл бұрын
Hi Cvac and welcome, each style of top case will need a mounting base or rack onto which you then mount your chosen case. Without seeing your bike it’s hard to answer so one thing you can do is Google your bike and year model and look at the bmw OEM mounting schematics to identify what you might need. Or if you are going down the original route pop into your local dealer and talk with them they are normally very helpful and friendly Hope this helps Carl
