Slum areas might be ruining the beauty of the city but it's more complex issue. Ignore it as it's a lower income housing.

It's not like Mumbai's the only city on this planet having an issue of slums, there are many other cities in Asia like Jakarta & Metro Manila facing slums and even in the western hemisphere like Rio De Janeiro. People really make it seem like Mumbai's doomed unlike any other city in the world.
@RamMohammadJosephKaur2 жыл бұрын
@@Shetty404So is Manila your idea for the future of Mumbai? I didn't even compare with these cities you are mentioning. If that is the benchmark you are envisioning for our cities then we will not progress. I'm talking New York, Tokyo, Shanghai and the likes. If we have to aim that high, we need to solve the poverty and housing issue facing the financial capital of India..
@Shetty4042 жыл бұрын
@@RamMohammadJosephKaur I mean we don't seem to be really progressing towards becoming a developed nation (Tokyo and New York as you mentioned) and even if we are, it's a very difficult and long path considering there's 17% of the world living right here. You can even take China as an example and that it's still considered a developing country despite being quite ahead in terms of its infrastructure. Which is why I decided to compare Mumbai to sister developing countries like Indonesia (Jakarta) and the Philippines (Manila) and how similiar they are in terms of the problems they face.

Mumbai ia atleast 50 years behind Shanghai but still some people are hopeful of crossing china by 2030. The usual argument is that it is communist doesn't hold bcz even countries of South East Asia look far more organised and decent. With the per capita gdp of 2000(india's per capita), the Chinese had this per capita in 2004 and their economy at that time was booming with 12 percent gdp growth rate for almost 10 years. What was india doing? India's base is very low in comparison to China so even if China's growth comes out to be 5 percent, their overall output grows almost equal to india's gdp in 1 yr(last year their gdp was 14.5 trillon, this year it is expected to 18 trilliom i.e almost india's gdp added to china in merely a year). So india, rather than proclamation of superpower every way and then.. Plzz introspect to make india great again by eliminating useless old politicians and re skill our citizens to match the realities of 21st century.
@dwarasamudra88892 жыл бұрын
@Phantom You can't include Chinese. They don't have a choice 😂
@parthlm10732 жыл бұрын
They were not 14.5 to 18 in a year it was 3 years growth They were 16.5 last year now projected to be 17.77 they are still adding a trillion We have to get 8-10% growth rate plus 5-6 inflation rate to catch up to them by next 20-30 years.. for now they r miles ahead
@nilaytalan44432 жыл бұрын
@@parthlm1073 China's economy was 14.5 trillion in 2020. It made to 17.7 trillion in 2021( their growth was 8.1 percent). Now in 2022, their economy is projected to be above 19 trillion dollars. So they r literally adding almost two trillion every year in their gdp. How do we really compete with a country of this scale? They r already world leader in new technologies of 5g, EVs and even no1. Or 2 in AI. Their startups( not like ours which r totally service based) are world class startups. Eg DJi drone maker, the world's largest drone maker having 80 to 90 percent of World market. Bbk, alibaba, tencent, xiaomi, baidu, huawei all of these companies are big MNCs competing US based companies. So, I feel it very odd to see some stupid 4th rate nationalists defending the position of our country in competition with major countries. They also lead in green technology and their advance manufacturing. So india has a lot of ground to gain to even compete with South East asia( they r much developed than us). We should be realistic in our assessment of our position.
