At 4:17, you may see there is a vertical void right below the Clock, this space previously held the Statue of Queen Victoria, which was later shifted to the Victoria and Prince Albert Museum ( Bhau Daji Lad Museum) in Byculla, Central Bombay ( Mumbai). @Attache. The Railway Station was then renamed as Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from the then existing Victoria Terminus.

I have been to India (and Mumbai in particular) on numerous occasions, travelling with my husband on his work trips. I was warned how much I would hate India and how I would never want to go back.....Well how wrong those people were! I absolutely LOVE India. Yes, there is a real depressing element, seeing the poverty, dirt and stray dogs, but put that aside and you can experience India for what it really is, a truly exotic destination with the most delicious food, friendly people and most interesting historical sights. Our best times have been spent roaming around and getting lost in the local markets and streets looking for "bargain " gifts to take home and trying the delicious local snacks. I suggest any tourist in Mumbai should try out the local Kulfi (Indian Ice cream) my husbands favorite.

@lizamedina37088 жыл бұрын
Hi I suppose it all depends which areas you travel to. I would say you are pretty safe with Camera equipment no problem.. unless you walk around dodgy areas alone at night. use your discretion. I dont think as a woman that I would personally like to travel there alone.

Im a 24 guy, and for me life starts after 7pm and on occasional weekend I get back home after 1 am. However as a local guy i know what places to avoid at midnight. Anyway, overall never had any issue ever.

As someone who has spent a years time in Mumbai ,Juhu...Maharashtra, you DEFINITELY need to try the Bombay veg sandwich, there is an AMAZING spot right by the college in juju maharashtra....quite popular. It has cooked potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, capsicum, beets,etc...with a wonderful green chilli, coriander paste....and some ABSOLUTELY Delicious powder of spices(VERY SPICY AND YUMMY)! YOU CAN HAVE IT GRILLED, BUT I RECOMMEND NON-GRILLED.🥪🥪🌶🌶🌶🙂

My best friend's wife (we are American) would just die in India, she's a germ freak, everything has to be clean. She couldn't believe nobody wore gloves while preparing food. There are a lot of people from the West that just aren't comfortable eating food that isn't prepared in a spotless environment. I will be returning to India for my 3rd visit this winter, I cannot wait to eat more street food!

This is brilliant! This is what a tourist in Mumbai needs to know. I'm from Mumbai, and believe me, no city guide till now has given so basic and important tips which a foreigner should know about getting around in this city. This is the stuff which actually matters and not the history or culture (which can be readily found in any guide book). Keep it up! P.S. The camera work is fantastic.
@attachetravel9 жыл бұрын
+Shocked Samantha thank you so much, I'm delighted that you like it. You've absolutely nailed the essence of the show (why show things that are readily available in the guide books.) That's a strong theme for us.

+Attaché And forgot to mention one more thing.. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST, formerly known as Victoria Terminus or VT) is NOT known as Mumbai Central Station locally. There is a station on the Western Line called as Mumbai Central Station. So, the point is Mumbai Central Station and CST are two different stations on two different lines. 4:04

Hey you came to my home country :) It's always feel nice to see one's city portrayed from a visitor's point of view. And trust me, I really really fell in love with your upload again(as usual like all your previous ones). But in the food section I think you missed quite a lot. I recommended everyone having panipuri - undoubtedly the most popular street food in India. Also sweets (a type of Indian dessert) - Indians can't live without it. Don't leave India without having Indian sweets you won't find this anywhere in the world xD And biryani ofcourse(type of rice) - the mouth watering delicious food and its smell for which you are going to come back again and again :p You showed chai(tea) and thalli which I also recommend to everyone :) In the transport section you missed out the rapid transit system(or metros) although it does not cover many parts of the city. I also recommend checking out Delhi and Calcutta when visiting India. Its worth checking out the iconic Taj Mahal (very close to Delhi). Both the cities a lot of Indian heritage and tells about her past. Calcutta was once the former capital of India during the British rule and still contains the remains of it. It's worth visiting during the festival of Durga Puja or Diwali.(equivalent of Christmas and New Year) - the biggest festival of India and learn a lot about Indian gods and goddesses. No doubt wherever you go believe me you will be rewarded with a lot of different traditional cuisines in different parts of the country. And you are bound to fall in love with each of them xD Next time I recommended you for a bigger section for food when visiting India :)

my only criticism is you used a marathi guide before food section but mumbai is full of people from all over india and you should have at least 5 food segments: two covering marathi and gujarati including parsi, irani and rest three from each major area of india: east, south and north ... north could have a mini segment on punjabi which (with its chicken tikka) is most popular export of india

Just my two cents - as safe as you guys may have felt on the streets, for ladies, I highly suggest not travelling alone... just saying!!

that applies to each and every single city on earth be it london nyc paris or Mumbai or kabul

That's not true. Singapore is very safe for ladies to travel alone, even in the middle of the night. Beijing, Shanghai, Penang, Malacca, Taipei, Kao Xiong, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kyoto and Seoul are also safe. I wonder what these cities have in common?

Hi Attache, welcome to India ! I have become a huge fan of your travel guides as it is fair, unbiased and accurately guides people through cities. I really need to thank you guys. you didn't show too much of the slums, filth and poverty of Mumbai unlike some of the other Western media channels and instead focussed more on the beautiful side of the city! I wish you come up with a Guide for my city- Bengaluru (Bangalore) as well. Located in south India at a distance of about 800 kms (500 miles) southeast of Mumbai, It is an as exciting, pulsating, dynamic ,warm and friendly city as Mumbai and as you may know, is the nerve centre of the world's IT and software production, and generates nearly 75% of India's revenue from IT and software exports. It is also famous for its gardens, and known as Garden City.Another thing that may amaze you is that the city is still rooted in its traditional history and culture as it has started embracing modernity.

hahaha, I am so sorry u are richer than us in every country in the world? come on bitch dont be silly, use ur google to search Forbes list of billionaires in 2017, there are 486 chinese people in this list, accounting for 23.6% of the world, what about indian people? Hundreds of millions of poor people in india now, caste system still shapes nearly every facet of Indian life, no good environment, no good road, no good hardware. dont make excuse, china is only developing in 30 years, india? lol, build more toilets first, and we really dont care how many satellitles u sent recently, no one cares about it in china, india, just india, that's it~
@adee64677 жыл бұрын
Franky S for ur kind information there r 120 billionaires from India which should have ideally been zero as greater no. of billionaires signifies greater income inequality (India ranked 4th in most no. of billionaires, after China, US and Germany) also India has world's largest export of pharmaceuticals and IT outsource. India is also ranked 24 in most visited nations (china-13). similarly we r 3rd largest purchasing power(9.8 trillion$) jst after US(18 trillion) and China(23 trillion). if u form ur opinion about India jst by seeing International media,then they also portrait Chinese as dog eating freaks and China as a sinking economy. now should we believe that 2

HI Alex, I love this travel video that you have done of my city. I am a Mumbai native “Mumbai-kar” in colloquial. I now live in London - but Mumbai still has my heart in her purse. While you have captured quite a bit in this episode, I still think that there is a a lot more to my city. You have missed public spots like Lover’s point in Bandra Bandstand and the Mount Mary’s Church, also in Bandra - the queens’s necklace at night and drive on our (not so) new suspension bridge. You’ve missed the nightlife, which is one of the most amazing things you can do in Mumbai - the rooftops like “Aer” and “Escobar” or “Bonabo’s” for amazing cocktails, great music at a price that would make you want you to move to Mumbai. Not to brag, but I discovered the best Spanish that I’ve ever had, in Mumbai. Our five star hospitality is off the hook - you’re treated like royalty from the moment you walk in. You have captured plenty of cows, how about showing some of the opulence the city has, my city does very well for itself you see. Again, great video, I thank you for covering my city, but I must say that out story has not been completely told. I would like to welcome you back and complete the picture of Mumbai that you started painting in your first video. Thanks Ben

china is far more developed than india and all indian neighbouring countries. china is superpower, wtf is india lmfao these gypsies are funny.
@Ashahar-cc4vb8 жыл бұрын
Alexander look we all know chinese are communists right, that directly means that they have 100% control on the areas people can visit and the areas people cant, they arent fools that they would show the poverty of china and make them look down, they would instead fool the economists after buying tonnes of unused cement and utilise 30% of it to create of what is shanghai and Beijing today, the rest of the parts world wont even know what is build cause simply they dont have access to those places, China wants us too see its good parts but we cant implement it on india can we, we cant kill the people who are below poverty line like china did in the past to convert itself into an industrial economy from agrarian economy in mere 7 months, can we, search" great leap forward" largest killing or cleansing of population humanity has ever seen
@Alexander-sf1fe8 жыл бұрын
Ashahar Parvez first of all china is not even communist, china is capitalist your confusing yourself. China is not 100 million populated country to control the people its a huge country its china not north korea, i've been to shanghai xi'an guangzhou. I've never saw poverty like india, every city feels like Europe Beijing is even more advanced than london. India is no where near china or ever will be. China is superpower and role model of india and africa. Name me one company which is famous out of india ?
@AMS-gl1hg8 жыл бұрын
One company ! dude TATA the largest private company for employment in London and have you heard the name Jaguar or Land Rover.Well i just told you about one company..There are many ..And talking about China .Well the people who cant decide their government should not talk decide about other countries.I accept we are not developed but we are developing.We were in British rule for more then 100 yrs ..And if you want to see our wealth ,please visit any British museum .We need time ,so just wait and watch .I dnt have any problem with you or blame you but just request you to have a knowledge before expressing
