I think it's worth the time, a lot of people use it plus you can feed it back to the bees during a dearth or spruce up the pollen sub with some real food. That's is my plant at the end of Fall when the pollen has shut off I'll feed most of it back to them mixed with sub. Thanks for stopping by Brad, have a great day.

Should store in glass the plastic will taint it, nice valuable collection! My hives are over 60 yards apart. My Russians are doing real good they got a costom super on! Me wild bunch needs about 10 more pounds of honey in there for winter I`m seeing less than half the beetles I seen last year using thee apitab and me carni`s I think that package came with mites so watching close they might go by by!

Sounds like they are doing good, ya I have heard those apitabs are helping a lot. they seem like a great product to me, I just act afford the cost of them. Maybe next year, step by step. Let me know about the package bees, apitab info.😁You should let Bob know how they are working for ya.

Good morning, How often do you need to remove the pollen from the traps, to keep it from molding? Thanks DC. 🐝🐝🐝

most of the time every day, you can let it sit in there longer if you are dryer. the pollen is damp when the bees collect it so you don't want it collecting to much moisture. When we have been hot, every 2 days. Because it's damp I keep it in my freezer, I'll dry it later but I'll still store it in the freezer. Keeping it frozen slows down the "value loss." kind of like fresh frozen, is better then substitute but not as good as fresh.

Ya, I have having a problem with the field mice or what ever they are, the horses ate all the field grass and I think they all moved into the garden. Brokefarmer gave me a good idea on a better way to use the mouse traps. I'll give that a go I think. Thanks for stopping by Anne, Blessed Days...

DC, when your collecting pollen, how long do you leave the traps on for. And is there any concern of how much the bees need for the fall build up. How much pollen frames would you make sure are in each colony? Sorry lots of questions eh. Lol take care

About a week at 1/2 setting, that way I am not taking to much just slowing down the amount that is coming it. I'll run it full setting for only a few days to train them some, but I only do that fora few days. I don't wana take it all. Depending on the time of season I really only like to see 1 or 2 good heavy pollen frames. Atm with the frame feeders in I am only running 8 frames so I don't want them to get to pollen heavy this time of year. The majority of this that I collected I'll probably end up feeding back to them mixed with sub after the pollen has turned of this Fall. Now I am also feeding them small amount of pollen patty atm. Basically I am trying to push the brood a little, so that they have a good stock now for them to make Winter bees when it comes time. I'll give them this extra pollen when it comes time for that, here in about 3 or 4 weeks. Did I get ya mostly answered Shane?😁

I give a little away but mostly atm I will feed it back to them in the later Fall so they can use to it build winter bees off of. I have a bag of pollen sub I'll mix it with that and let them have it. Partly I am collecting pollen to slow down the amount that was coming into the stronger colonies, I didn't want them becoming pollen bound this time of year. Next year I am look into selling some, my local bee store has told me she will buy all I make. Have a great day, thanks for stopping by. Blessed Days...

@@dcsblessedbees that makes sense, I haven’t had much luck with pollen substitute, ive put it out on occasion but the bees don’t seem interested
