I mean, these aren't just "bats", these are flying foxes (megabats, while the small tiny ones are microbats. Microbats echolocate and eat insects, and have the tiny squished faces while Megabats are fruit bats, they don't echolocate, and they have these doggy faces). They are also highly intelligent and have rich emotional lives. On top of that, they're some of the most important pollinators out there, and they're sadly a threatened species that no one is fighting for because people have this weird notion of bats being scary pests. All bats are extremely important to the environment because of pollination and insect control.

In my old house, a brown bat had gotten into the attic. We had kept it in a batbox for a while as it healed. It hated our guts but it was very cute, and after about a week or so, we let him out.
