starting a baby registry + SURPRISING mom for her birthday 🥳

I have a 2 month little bubba and I’m a first time mum! I had bought so many things that have been live savers but I also got so many things that are useless to me 😭 These are a few key things that I recommend that I haven’t seen someone suggest yet - swaddles (love to dream swaddles or Velcro swaddles). Bub will have startle reflex and these swaddles were the only way he could sleep without waking himself up. - Nappy Caddys with the basics in the nursery, in your room and downstairs. Excessive I know but makes such a difference with you not having to go to the nursery every time. - Angel Care Baby Bath Support!!! Game changer!!! With bath time, especially in the newborn stage, put a big wet wash cloth on bubs chest throughout the whole bathtime, it makes them calm and feel secure. - baby shusher - red light - QV baby moisturiser and bath wash!!! My little one reacted to the aveeno skincare and GAIA Skincare. QV is amazing!!!! - burp cloths!!! I use those fabric white nappies as burp cloths, so much easier. One thing I definitely recommend that I didn’t do was more research on after birth care/breastfeeding- what to do and what not too/nipple care/pumping - milk storage etc. I really really struggled and learnt the hard way but got there at the end thankfully 🥹🤞🏽 There are so many other things but I don’t want to overwhelm you. Mom of 2 #1 Swing was very helpful a #2 flower bath for the sink because my last pregnancy ended up having a c-section very helpful. #3 humidifier is the only thing little ones can use when sick. #5 breast pump and extra attachments #6 Frida nose sucker #7 baby wash cloths and plenty of baby towels and blankets. #9 baby monitor #10 Dr Browns bottles because they don't swallow a lot of air . The best advice is find a great pediatrician

White noise machine, Velcro swaddles, pitcher for mixing larger volume of formulas, bottle sanitizer, and definitely have enough baby bottles.

I have two sons, 24 & 20 now, but you have a village and leaning on your family is vital for both of you! But I would wait on all the bouncy things, swings etc until bebe is on a schedule and you will know whether they will like those motion vessels (haha). I'm sure the nursery will be a dream, can't wait for yall's journey as new parents, big hugs from Texas xoxoxo

I would recommend baby swaddles , coat that has a slide down side as can help after delivery. A pram which is light and goes from birth to 4 years old. A car seat, baby wipes , nappies all sizes for baby shower . Babies grow so fast. Baby carrier , baby play mat, baby gates, blankets , bouncer , high chair, baby wonsies , breast pump electric and nubs hand brest pump as when milk gets heavy it get uncomfortable. Sun proctor for pram. Also baby bath,baby nail cutter and temp set.

I had a c section and for post partum care, the disposable underwear was amazing until I completely healed. But definitely check out a post partum care box. A baby bag with a changing pad We ended up getting a stackable formula holder for the days we were on the road. A thermos for tthe hot water for the formula We used the Phillips bottle sanitizer but then I found out baby breeza has one that washes and sanitize, so definitely check that out. A simple baby tub, the one without holes because I found it to be annoying to clean. Our Pediatrician recommended cerave baby lotion. For diaper rash or rashes in general, we liked penaten, Nursing pads because you'll wake up in the middle of a nap soaked. A carseat canopy- breathable Not sure if your going to bottle feed, but we used Phillips avent glass bottles and they were great. The best soothers that worked for my son was the nuk orthodontic pacifier. Found that these were more sanitary than the other ones because water didn't leak into nipple part of soother. I will suggest that you get a breast pump that allows you to be hands free, because I have the Medela and yes I like it. When I was pumping, I was stuck pumping for 20-30 mins. If I think of anything else, I will let you know. Btw CONGRATULATIONS, you'll do great! 💕

I am 9 months postpartum and I also bought a lot and lots of it is waste… for feeding highly recommended dr browns glass bottles and a sterilizer

Hello congratulations 🥂 first. I have 3 weeks baby and I would definitely recommend diaper caddy, dr brown bottles, lots of burp clothes like loads, medela electric pump, Huggies diapers, loads of onesie’s these are the only clothes we use.

You don’t need much for brand new, just suggest a car seat/stroller combo brand new for sure, pretty much everything else can get second hand from friends/family/Facebook marketplace and moms pages/groups!!

To be completely honest, a lot of what you need is going to depend on how your baby is there’s a lot of things that are very popular and some babies just don’t like them such as the swings and vibrating seats. diaper genie definite must I had to one for upstairs and one for downstairs

Congratulations!! Get a stroller that can eventually turn into a double one (just in case Baby #2 comes) Evenflo Pivot Xpand is what we got! Frida baby is great brand! They have a 3 in 1 Sound Machine, Nightlight and Humidifier. Electric Breast Pump if you wish to nurse your Baby and Earth Mama Nipple Butter. Also Nursing Pillow is a must. Diaper Caddy for upstairs and downstairs! Store all the necessities in it. Don’t buy a lot of Newborn Outfits and if you do just buy cotton sleepers. 2 pieces will get annoying. Thermometer, Snot Sucker, Electric Nail Filer instead of Nail Clippers. Let me know I can send you my Baby Registry. My Baby was born last year in May so it’s all fresh for me! If you are going to express your milk...get electric breast pump!! Dont go manual....I bought tommee tippee one it was super loud but for my 2nd baby I just bought one from amazon for fraction of the price something like £25 and much quieter and done the job!!

Onesies - loads of them - baby lives in them for the first 6months. Baby clothes are cute but can be fussy. Onesie with the zips are a game changer (undoing and doing up a 1000 buttons 1000 times a day is soul destroying!)
