Munjya is a rakshas from Konkan folklore, a malevolent spirit born from an incomplete ritual. In this horror-comedy, a boy's unrequited love and violent tendencies turn him into a Munjya, haunting his love interest. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film blends traditional horror with humor and social commentary, featuring Abhay Verma as the unlikely hero. I am disappointed with how anupama didn't pick up on the the subtle theme of "letting go" in love... the evil munjya was out to marry munni with no regard to what muni wants. On the contrary, bittu accepts that bela doesn't have feelings for him n let's go of her, mentioning he won't become munjya after her... This is a breath of fresh air! We hate the 90s troupe of "heroes" almost coercing the heroines into saying yes.... I wish this was slightly better fleshed out so that EVERYONE wud have picked up on it

This theme is more evident in "Stree",where rather than kidnapping men willy nilly Stree waits for men to give consent. In "Munjya" also it's very clear that the makers want to make a good point about consent but the timing was a little unexpected for viewers. Still attentive ones like you caught it and many others would've too.

Anupama is pronouncing Munjya as Munjaya (मुंजया)! Its written and said as मुंज्या which basically means a brahmin (because his thread ceremony has been already done) bachelor boy/man who has passed away without getting married.

Review Munjya What a brilliant movie by the fabulous Aditya Sarpotdar from the supernatural horror comedy universe of maddock films as the step brother of stree . Hats off Dinesh vijan I hope you noticed the political tongue in cheek black humour...brahmin as villain and the pursuit of stubborn unrequited lust beyond mortal life (rss) the said transfer of lusting soul to another living being marked with a similar symbol( wolfsangel-swastika rotated ) and thereafter to similar toxic masculine person . ( Chacha character ). The evil spirit being visible to only the family.. ( sangh parivar) South Indian secular Elvis ( southern states ) as the saviour ( from abki baar 400 par ) with dialogues like "evil has no religion "and like the masked magician from breaking the magician code revealing the showmanship n jumla baazi n chicanery of a spiritual leader by chanting "hallelujah -( JSR ! of supreme non biological ) and brain washing of the community .. The vision of grandmother to rise up against the fear ( electoral bugbear of muslims) The cane being used on the truant child's back - to rip the shirt apart , election ink vertical mark to vote against demagogue.

😂😂😂Just for fun, the irony is... There is a hindi language film amidst english speaking makers. The script is english, actors, producers, directors etc speak better english than hindi, and even reviewers give reviews in english which actually makes no sense at all. You're watching it in Hindi language and reviewing it in english for exactly which audience? The majority of them understand hindi, no? Don't tell me you watch hindi films with english subtitles😂😂😂😂😂

Am an Arab fan of indian movies.. I don't speak nor understand any Indian language and i solely depends on subtitles These reviews that are in English are important to us fans

Rather than tell someone what language their reviews should be in why not try and find a reviewer that suits your needs. Or better still why don't you start a Hindi speaking film review channel so people like you who want film reviews in Hindi have somewhere to converge. Just out of curiosity when doing film reviews of other Indian language films should she also do them in the language of the film? 😂😂🤡🤡🤡

For Bollywood Evil definitely has a religion. This time it is Brahmins. The design of the Brahmarakshas in the movie #MUNJYA is quite objectionable. The evil entity has been portrayed with the following: 1. JANEAU 2. CHOTI These are associated with Brahmins. It seems that hate for Brahmins runs deep in Bollywood. For example in a Dracula Movie, can anyone portray the Evil entity Dracula wearing a CROSS ✝️ ??? The answer is NO. JANEAU is a sacred thread worn by the chanting of Vedic Mantras. How can anyone think of an Evil entity wearing a JANEAU???

Btw you gave the example of Dracula . In the movie exorcist which is inarguably the most famous and influential English horror film the devil rapes a girl with a cross . There is heavy blasphemy . So clearly the whole point of horror movies is to invoke blasphemous imagery to show the evil not to promote it retarf

Chill ... I am joshi maharahstrian Bramhin ... It's a myth the film doesn't demean ceremony . The director himself is bramhin . The folklore actually existed in small villeges where if boy dies after thread ceremony he becomes ghost which is called as Munjya. It's a fun film . Don't get too serious.
