Everyone makes it looks so easy to find the airbag retention springs/clips, but I can seem to find them for the life of me…

They are in the deepest part of the wheel. I didn’t do a very good job of showing me taking them from one wheel to the next, but they are one of the last things you remove when taking the guts out of the old wheel.

Well, once I got the airbag out and off it all made “sense”. Whatever one uses to get the airbag out…screwdriver, long Allen wrench, etc. I think the direction should be to try to keep the far end towards the front (hood side) of the steering wheel cavity. Then “feel” for the presence of the retaining clip/wire on each side. I personally think that’s what I was missing at first…I just didn’t even know what I should be “feeling” for…LOL In any case, I got it all done but then I got it all back together and realized that I’d left that very retaining clip in the old wheel!!! DOH! Fixed that and I’m golden now!

@@txtechnonerd definitely. Yeah once you jam it in you’ll feel that retaining spring; it’s difficult to depict that in video. Glad it worked out and thanks for elaborating more on how that part should go.

@MrMoises27 you need to shove the Allen keys or something similar (like a small screwdriver) through the holes on the back; what your doing is your feeling for springs that cover each one of those wholes to “release” the airbag. It’s not always straight into that whole. Stick it in partially and wiggle around in that hole and see if you can feel that spring. That’s going to be what releases the airbag.
