I would've looked him dead in the optics and grown my right hand into a Surgical Drill and started spinning it faster and faster while slowly walking over to him and said eerily calmly "If you run . . . you'd better fucking run. Because you WILL die running. And I will make you wish you had chosen facing death with dignity. Now you face it as a coward. Now you face ME as a coward" Yeah, I also had/have daddy issues so seeing that stings on a REALLY PERSONAL LEVEL. Leaving a kid, your own kid in the icy chilling wind and freezing cold darkness of a snowy night at the merciless menace of the metal around you. Alone. Abandoned. Left for whatever cold, dark, cruel fate awaits you. Cast aside and kicked aside like just some helpless street dog. Yeah . . . I know what that's like . . . a l l t o o w e l l.

At first I thought that all the meta humor in this pilot was a bit much, but I grew to appreciate it more when it occured to me that all of the characters are literally robots imitating humanity based on whatever information they could get their hands on, which apparently includes a lot of anime.

one thing I don't see many people talking about is how much the murder drones resemble vampires.

Design wise they resemble angel/demon with vampire like trait like oil thirst fear of sun/star light and in episode 2 N sleeps up side down like a bat.

Fun Fact: Murder Drones have 7 eyes. The "lights" on their heads are special eyes with 360 degree vision and each is specialized. One is night vision, one is temperature sensitive, so on and so forth. This explains how N saw Uzi behind him and was able to snipe a worker drone behind himself.

This is my favourite episode in the series. N is one of the most interesting characters I’ve seen in any media, both acting as a sympathetic goofball and a violent, capable murderer. Uzis dad closing the door isn’t the biggest twist in my opinion, it’s N changing from crushing a workers head in his hand then fatally stabbing uzi (she would’ve died from the nanite acid), to being an awkward and relatable character saving uzi, back to ruthlessly destroying the 6 workers playing cards and attempting to kill uzi again.

If you like this, glitch productions has another 3 season long webseries called Meta Runner which recently ended and is imo underrated and surely worth checking out Meta Runner was their first big project, and with each season, you could see how much progress they made over the years up to this moment I really enjoy watching their stuff a lot

23:30 More like their eyes. 24:40 It's actually possible to protect electronics from EMP, which is likely what was done with the Murder Drones (but not the Workers, since they probably weren't expected to be exposed to them while working for the company). 28:14 The company is profit-motivated, and the Worker Drones doing their own thing uses resources that the company would rather have themselves.

The ones who aren't actually evil buy can just be REALLY sadistic and not "the Good guy". So more like an antagonist who isn't afraid to be not nice but doesn't actually want to hurt anyone. But also isn't afraid to go for the lowest blows if it means putting an actual villain in their place and delivering bad puns while doing so. Basically Like Knockout from Transformers Prime. I'm that guy or at least definitely relate to them. Yeah sorry, I'm one of THOSE. If ya catch my double meaning there.

Far as her Father goes. His job is to protect te entire colony of who knows how many heads (hundreds? more?) and his daughter already knew she wasnt allowed to go out to begin with. Was it right what he did to her? No, i would not have done that if i knew i had a chance to get her. But i can understand what he did. His job was to keep the entire colony alife. I dont envy him at all to have to make THAT decision. Your own daughters life against the life of an entire colony? That's evil...

I agree with uzi's actions 100% from beginning to end. Her dad on the other hand...if it were me i would have closed the door and stood on the OTHER side to shoot the gun. Wost case scenario is the n & uzi die or i die with my daughter. Best case scenario my daughter and i survive & can quickly go back & shut the door. Regardless the colony stays safe & there's at least a chance my daughter survives. In no way was THAT the right move. Then again that door turned out to be useless and the gun does need an entire half-hour to recharge so it likely would still have been a problem but with the information he had that's what I would have done.
