I solved my first murder case (besides tutorial) because of this video, I went through the apartment of the murder scene went through multiple leads and nothing was coming up right. I remembered your words and went back to A, the scene. What I found was the murder victim’s work ID, and I remembered there was another murder before this one, but I could never find the place and gave up, but now I knew where it was because the victim worked there. After going there I easily was able to go through the employee database and found the prints of the killer. Then I went to there home, handcuffed them and turned the report in. Thanks for the help, man.

Nice video. I like this form of case stories. For my personal playthrough experience I'm using house rules of no government database, fingerprint scanner only allowed on side jobs, and not reading the calling card crumpled paper since with long or short last names it can straight up tell you who it is. Also no stealing except from the dead, murderers or theft mission targets, and no going doomguy with the truncheon and door smack since it's trivial and kinda immersion breaking to beat everyone in the city and search through their stuff. Just with a strong level of suspicion or hurry. I find that with those rules I'm actually doing detective work and engaging in deduction and having fun, sometimes getting cases that go multiple murders until I finally find something connecting someone to the scenes and eyewitness accounts. I started using these house rules after I had one murder that happened on the street and there was no hard evidence to be found, just trash people walking past the body had dumped next to the bleeding out victim in the rain. Two high calibre entry wounds visible on the back her head. I went through street CCTV and nearby businesses and wrote down sticky notes for an order of events, finally narrowing down to four suspects who did not have an alibi at the time of the murder. Most conspicuously the head cook of a nearby restaurant had just left their workplace during their shift and didn't come back that day. I never found the murder weapon or direct evidence. I didn't have underground contacts either for the black markets that would be dealing in such hardware. In the end, just by lack of alibi and a match from eyewitness testimonies I arrested the head cook, closing the case. City hall agreed with my assessment, but who knows. Just another day in the rain.

I totally agree, and this is pretty much what I go for every single time but with how little content there is in the game at the moment, I just go through cases really fast. I'll try to make the city even bigger in the next one and see if it's harder.

@@thatboywags You can also set the game length so you have to get more social credit levels before retirement, I think the max is like 15. The largest city is only 20 square blocks (With about 2 or 3 empty park blocks thrown in), but some people have altered game files to gen HUGE cities with thousands of NPCs, so the world gen scales even if it will cook your PC after a certain point

Agreed. As much as I love the detective work, I also love the occasional breaks where I have to go eat and drink. I think if they were more crucial to your health, it'd be better. I completely removed the Smell debuff because I just thought it was a waste of time having to shower whenever I dig through the trash.

I want to buy this game but don't know how bad the bugs will be, like if I fall through the world more than once per couple hours thats a bit much, other bugs I can deal with I think.

It's definitely still in early access stages and can be pretty buggy at times. I haven't ran into too many gamebreaking ones.. I've fallen through the floor a couple times but as long as you have a recent save, you're good. Honestly the game is super fun and if youre interested, I think you should get it. But I can understand how the the bugs can be off-putting.

Funnily enough. The first case I ever solved(aka 5 minutes ago) is a "reaper case" I had the difficulty on easy as a test. so I looked at the crumbled paper(it was in the middle of the street). I went and just go to the city directory and did it by process of elimiation found the target use the door tactic. knocked him out and then searched him, found the 8mm ammunition. got excited reported it and wrong person. Retyped his name aka pull it out of his citizen file. and im right I didnt find the gun/murder weapon though and the evidence

Honestly just take it one step at a time. Start with one spare lead like a spare fingerprint or maybe a suspect like a roommate or a coworker. Investigate their workplace, and find witnesses. eventually you'll get the hang of it! Good luck!

Yeah I agree, or don't give you all the spaces, just one letter at a time. I'm sure you could change that with difficulty as well. Higher the difficulty, the less letters you end up getting. But as someone who's gone from Easy, all the way to Extreme, I still barely notice a difference.

Thank you so much and I def agree with you. The thumbnails have too much going on in them but the reason I've stuck with the same style for the past 4 videos is because it just seems to work. I do wanna go in and refine them, make them look a little cleaner.. but at the same time, I also don't want to leave people confused when things randomly start changing.
