I never grasp Alpha's mental state until now. His mind literally regressed to the point of near cognitive breakdown. He couldn't remember anything, not even his own name. Also his word choice, nothing too complex just basic words that a CHILD could say. He didn't use "exhausted", he used "tired". Alpha also had to pause just think about what he was gonna say next. And we're talking 2 to 3 second pauses. It shows how much Project Freelancer took from...literally everything.
@CKnightZero5 жыл бұрын
If you Compare the empty shell he was here to the way Alpha Church was during Blood Gulch, most of his personallity at the time was from his interaction with the Reds and Blues (the rest probobly came from a certain Private who I can't talk about yet). I say that Maine original personality did start to kind of break through the manipulation during revelation. Without the A.I., he wasn’t just a brute anymore. He didn’t want to hurt her, he didn’t even want to swing, even if he still knew he probably would have lost even if he did go on the offensive he still didn’t swing. And yeah, the lighter scene is one of the most iconic in the whole series for me.

Something I realized watching your reaction, Maine and Carolina were so close, at least on the battlefield. Out of everyone she fought best with him, he didn't even hold it against her when she kicked him off a building and she felt comfortable enough to do that, trusting Maine to survive a fall like that. It just heartbreaking thinking about that and seeing the Meta Chuck her off the side of a mountain. I can see why she finds it hard to trust people.
@BrianHall335 жыл бұрын
Yeah that one hits me. Even in later seasons main is still one of the first ones she mentions. He was a good friend to her. Not only does he forgive her for kicking him off a 110 story building, he didn’t really hold it against her at all. Right after that he took a bullet in the chest of Carolina, and while he was watching her back again is when he was shot in the neck, AND THEN HE GOT UP AGAIN with the Grifshot AND TRIED TO HELP HER! Despite him barely being able to stand up and could barely hold the weapon! I think out of everyone in the program the only person closer to Carolina than Main was York.

I always think about how painful it is to see Meta/Maine throw carolina off the cliff. Maine has always been the big guy, he does the heavy lifting, he gets things done, and he protects his team’s back. He is who Wash calls in for help on the battlefield. He doesn’t think about letting himself get shot by the sniper to save Carolina, he does it without hesitation. That's just who he is; the brute that cares about and protects his friends. Imagine how much it must've taken to turn him from that, to the one who threw her off the cliff, to the one who had a hand in several freelancer deaths. (It hurts. A lot.)

Washington defending the Reds and Blues is definitely one of my favourite moments in the series because it shows how much character development he had since the recovery one miniseries. In seasons 6-8 he was a dick towards the Reds and Blues to a point where he's willing to team up with the Meta and kill the Reds and Blues just to get Epsilon and in the end, even all the shit they've been through, they've helped him by giving a home and a new start. Another thing is that in the Freelancer flashbacks, you realize that Washington was in a way a "loser" compared to the other Freelancers and with that he was able to connect with the Reds and Blues where he now sees them as friends.

I've got a theory that may explain why Gamma would "run" from the Meta during the attack on Wyoming. It does seem counter-intuitive; he was helping Sigma, after all. But what if he wasn't running away? What if Gamma forcibly ejected himself from Wyoming TO get to the Meta, but was somehow stopped? It would explain why Gamma and Wyoming never rejoined after this moment and always stayed separate; there was a breach of trust. And it's entirely possible that Gamma did end up in the Meta's hands, but Wyoming used his armor ability to undo it.

Fun fact. If you look carefully at Carolina as she's falling, you can see her hand raise holding her trusty grappling hook.

I don’t know why but I spend a good minute between 6:11 6:13 just looking at the hair

Part of what I love about Muder: "It'll just be a quick recap, it can't be long or lengthy." Hour and a Half video. Sometime o think you go too far to please us, but passion is passion.

I never really thought much about this, but David died when Epsilon was put in his head. When Epsilon unraveled inside his mind, Wash was damaged in ways that can never be truly healed, and that damage simultaneously killed 'David' and created 'Washington'. Sure, he regains some of his previous humor as he spends time with the Reds and Blues, but David is gone.

Considering what happens a couple seasons from now, who is created after that moment?

Damn, can't believe something like that happened to you for the first time after you doing youtube for so long. At least you owned up to it and didn't try to fake it like some people have done. Keep making the great vids man :D

“I forgot to hit the record button” That's rough man! A KZbinr's worst nightmare. Very happy with what you managed to put together in the end though! I've said it a lot but the end of Project Freelancer will always haunt me, it's such a soul crushing and emotionally moving ride. Especially the York vs Carolina aspect. I was hugely invested in both those characters, and to see what happened to them. I thought nothing could affect me so severely ever again. Until we got Jaune and Pyrrha's farewell that is. Such similar emotions in those scenes. A guy trying to protect the one he loves; a girl unable to let go of the duty she's set for herself. Neither getting their happy ending. I have a love/hate relationship with tragic romance stories haha. I really wish we get more info on the Love and Greed A.I fragments in the future! It's so weird for them to be featured in a flashback and have no other mention of them. And I wholeheartedly agree that we need more RWBY fights like the one with Tex. Less cuts and more use of a dynamic camera. It's far more immersive and something that's been missing since the loss of Monty.
