I agree with how Dainsleif must've a misunderstanding about the archons, how in his POV the archons destroyed the nation but in the bigger picture, if they don't destroy Khaenri'ah then the whole Teyvat would be wiped out of existence.

yeah agree with dainsleif probably misunderstanding the situation. every nation so far was dealing with something from the abyss 500 years ago like with durin, the stuff in the chasm, etc. felt like the archons were forced to go there directly to eradicate the source of it and since things from beyond their world is involved, kinda made zhongli's NDA make sense lol

If we put now the context of Egeria with the Fontaine wings lore, she was the heart of the primordial sea. She died here and became the Amrita thus creating new life, and with Nabu Malikata's divine Khvarena which is part of her as a Seelie, and Rhukkadevata fashion her and turn it into a divine bird Simurgh = the perfect formula for the Pari to be born, creating the Havistopkm and enough to extinguish all the abyssal corruption that was caused by the Cataclysm.

So after the ‘had to tether’ line for Egeria because she was corrupted I’m thinking the curse of immortality put on the Khaenri’ahns was doing the same. If a corrupted being dies completely they’d go back into irmunsol to be reborn. But that would further corrupt it so they had to be kept out for the good of all. Love how these time capsules got into current day lore

Bedtime story quest spoilers but I want arnold to take note of this . 21:28 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The final dream of oasis was gathered into one body and transformed into pure, bright, endless sea of flowers..hidden within the divine birds body. -> ENDLESS SEA OF FLOWERS. THE FLOWER GARDEN THAT LUMINE SAW AT THE END OF HER JOURNEY!!! Ofcourse i am not saying that she went into simurgh's body, but If simurgh is a fragment of Nabu Malikata's power, and it represents a power ..maybe there is something out there..the true being that the simurgh was just a small imitation of..and that had the endless sea of flowers...I don't know if this is important but please someone keep note of this.

When I started this quest I thought nothing much of it because of so many understandable words, and just went tgrough with it. But as I was going through with it, learning bits and pieces of what happened I focused more, double reading to understand. When I did, my jaw dropped and I almost cried. Edit: A couple of weeks ago I came back to this place to help my brother get his chest from the heart pool. I looked at the area, bask in the music, I still felt like crying I swear.

Technically, there is no confirmation that Venti or Zhongli went to Khaenri'ah either. Venti and Dvalin were dealing with Durin attacking Mondstadt at the time, and then Dvalin's poisoning, and Zhongli was instructing the Millelith on how to deal with The Chasm. We know Makoto went and Ei brought what was left of her back, but we don't actually know who all was there. If the Hydro Archon and Dendro Archon never even stepped foot in Khaenri'ah and both died in Sumeru, who can say what actually happened? Dain said 'gods' in his quote about Khaenri'ah's destruction. He didn't say 'Archons'. The Archons ARE gods, but they are not the ONLY gods in the game. We've been aware of this for a long time. Considering Lumine's vision in the We Will Be Reunited Trailer, shows the Sustainer's cubes in Khaenri'ah, it could have just been THEM and a couple others of Celestia who went. We still don't know. That's why the recounting of the Cataclysm from Dain has confused me for a long time. Cuz first we're told the Archons 'couldn't ignore' it based on Ei's voice line, but then her SQ2 tells us that Inazuma was facing trouble during the Cataclysm and Ei had to deal with that herself. Then we go to The Chasm and learn that Liyue also had to deal with their own trouble during the Cataclysm because of the outpouring of the Abyssal creatures. And this reminds us that Durin's attack was also during the Cataclysm which would be Mondstadt's trial in all this. Dvalin gets poisoned and Venti falls asleep supposedly. And then we go to Sumeru where we learned GLR died protecting Irminsul from Abyssal corruption and never even went to Khaenri'ah. And then we get the last desert expansion and find out that the former Hydro Archon died in Sumeru to fight off the Abyss and never went to Khaenri'ah either. So, when Dain says 'the gods' I'm wondering which ones. Makoto went, but she wasn't a fighter at all, and her sword wasn't used until Ei started using it. So, what was SHE doing there, unless, as per Ei's words, she might have been trying to be a distraction to shield Ei's existence from being discovered... We just don't know. Even now. The sequence of events is becoming clearer as the game progresses, but we just don't have enough info yet. And it's because Venti is avoidant and Zhongli is contracted to silence. Also, the current Cryo Archon's issue with Venti confuses me because this would suggest that she was a god who knew of him already and was allowed to live in Snezhnaya after the Archon War ended, when all the other nations had remaining gods who either had to die or give up their forms for someone to be allowed to become Archon(Andrius and Ei especially) and for the war to finally end. My personal theory is that the Archon War was just Celestia's way of culling the herd to limit the number of beings capable of challenging them for power in Teyvat. And based on this thought, it would make sense why Andrius and Ei both gave up their forms and essentially killed themselves despite not really dying or fading away, just so Venti and Mokoto could ascend(we know Barbatos ascended last and then the war ended). So, why does the Tsaritsa have an issue with Venti if she's not the original Cryo Archon? How would she know anything about him or what he has done? He doesn't exactly have great things to say about Celestia, so it's not like he appears to be an obstacle in her wish to wage war against the Divine. A lot of things just don't make sense in the timeline we currently have. Hopefully they're clarify more in the future. AND TO BE CLEAR: Them clarifying the timeline details through another god/ancient being/new map area is not contrived retconning. It's natural for people to remember certain events differently, that's why Enkanomiya's people weren't 'wrong' for how they recorded the history of the world's Beginning because it was history as *humans of the time* were aware of it. Apep's words about the Beginning being different isn't an attempt at fixing a plothole they made. Enkanomiya's location is so far from Sumeru that it's obvious they'd have a different recounting of what went down in that war thousands of years ago. And Apep was actually there so her experience provides the *dragon's views* of the event.

Rosalyne reproaches Venti for not being there during the cataclysm. Mondstadt did fight the monsters without the archon for a period before he appearing to help Dvalin with Durin, either he was asleep or he was indeed in Kaenriah, or a third thing. Iirc in Liyue the ones that fought more directly the cataclysm were the millelith and the yaksha, is there a mention of Zhongli directly fighting the monsters in his home? I think for Ei yeah she did stay in Inazuma but Makoto the actual archon as far as we know she went and died in Kaenriah. Finally Egeria died extremely close to the / a door of Kaenriah I don’t think is that unthinkable to say she did die there as well. Idk I feel like the line “no archon could not ignore the events in Kaenriah and probably demanding them all to be present at some point. Even when the greater lord mentions she did not go, like there was an emphasis on this, like denoting it was indeed an exception as an archon.

(watching this after i recently came around to watching the Wishful Drops event with Endora, pretty sweet to realize how everything is still coming together the more we know 👍) also, to me at least, in the present Dainsleif isn't entirely misunderstanding the situation. the allure of the Abyss was what brought about Khaenri'ah's downfall, and the Five Sinners did nothing to stop it - they were lured in by the Abyss as well. i feel like Dainsleif's whole deal is that he doesn't trust the gods, that's a whole Khaenri'ahn thing, plus the fact that even the original Archons who loved humanity could not help the humans who lived in Khaenri'ah in the end; to some extent the Seven were also meant to obey the Heavenly Principles lest Bad Things happen to their own people. (possible explanation behind Zhongli's NDA and Venti's bad feelings about Celestia). Dain understands the situation differently from the Abyss Order - there's no need to revive the homeland, that Khaenri'ah as a nation is dead and it needs to stay dead. it's similar to Kaeya's voice line about how "the sinners are all that's left, and they're not worth mentioning". after all, why unite with the Abyss to revive a homeland destroyed as collateral damage, when the whole of Teyvat itself could be collateral damage as well? (then again, the Abyss Order does seem to wish that humanity itself would be eradicated as well, from what i remember.)

If we consider what we know after the "Bedtime Story" Quest, it would make sense, that celestia only destroyed Khaenri’ah because of their connection with the abyss. We know that the five sinners were pretty important people in Khaenri’ah and all of the tempered with a power from the abyss. It never made sense to me, that celestia or phanes killed the original dragons of teyvat, established a human race and after killed them for beeing humans and just existing. If the turning point was, that there were using the power of the abyss, then I would get why celestia sais wait a minute. They (sadly) punished the whole nations for the wrongdoings of the sinners. It may sound harsh, but I wouldalso imagine that the sinners new, what consequenses their actions would have. That would also explain why the did not wake up, after the divine throne of hydro was destroyed. Maybe they never cared that much about the archon order and the gods. Humans could follow the gods and archons or leave them be, like Khaenri’ah did. I think the problem starts for celestia when the abyss is involved, which is understandable, because the abyss could destroy teyvat. So maybe now that the loom of fate is completed and the abyss is going to plan bigger projects the heavenly principles will awake. The problem was never the independence of humanity, it was the use of the abyss. Even tho it makes celestia look more reasonable, they still killed the dragons and their king, which is still a mystery to me... Btw, thank you Arnold for this series, your dedication to the lore and your appreciation for the game its beauty, music and finesse. I dont judge players for only playing for the gatcha or the main storyline, but sometimes its sad seeing the game I love and appriciate getting reduced to not having enough rewards or dry patches when its so much more. I get its not for everyone but if the core of the game, which is worldbuilding, is not for you, maybe try a different game. So thank you alot for giving us content consumers a positive bubble of fun, lore crafting and appriciation. Every Video from you is a delight and that means so much at times like these. I will also say on the subject of misunderstandings, the further we go along, the more i go "*did* Nabu Malikata and Deshret's plan fail?" Like first of all Nabu Malikata knew from the start that this path would end in her death, even if she kept that from Deshret. Second of all the effort Deshret went to separate his spirit from his body, and have the later eaten by a dragon sovereign of all things. Much like Focalors plotted it all from the start , even if she kept Furina unaware of most of the steps, do we just not know enough about what those two were trying to do to judge if the plan failed.

The oceanids didnt like what Focalors was doing and they left, but how did Egeria end up in sumeru is a mystery, i wonder how you react to Ann's quest later on. Speaking of makoto, i believe Lumine killed her because she was probably there at the moment.

Egeria ended up in Sumeru because the Khaenri'ah cataclysm happened and the archons (besides Rukkhadevata) were sent there to fight off the abyssal creatures and contain the abyssal fallout. We know from the Caribert Archon Quest that Khaenri'ah is located near Sumeru (actually its entrance is underneath the Tunigi Hollow region) but she never made it to the kingdom of Khaenri'ah because she was killed by the abyss and the Horvisptokhm tree is part of what's left of her thanks to Rukkhadevata (the water is her remains and the tree contains her slumbering consciousness)

I wouldn't say "simply". That fight was the catalyst for the entire game lol. We know they all went to Khaenri'ah at this point, while Rukkhadevata stayed behind to defend Irminsul. It's also where Raiden Makoto died.

You know after watching this video I had a theory What if that some people or higher ups were using abyss power it got out of control celestia found out about it sent all the archons amongst them while fighting dain found out about it and supported archons instead of khaneraiah that's why he hates abyss and abyss hates him but other people not involved didn't know the truth everyone half half blooded turned to monster and pure blooded suffered maybe bcz they had a bloodline talent related to controlling abyss or something so they had other effect compared to normal people after the war was over or something after seeing our twin made a choice asked those archons to curse him (like in fonatine quest the immortality curse) (there is also a chance that abyss cursed him so that he doesn't die I just don't understand if he gets in his way won't it be easy to get rid of him unless they need a pure blooded khaneraiahn for something they wish to do) bcz he wanted to fight abyss and stop their plan after seeing the DMG done by them but since he was also affected by abyss curse as side effect his memory got mixed up he remembered parts of it so he remembers as makoto said it was a place nobody can ignore that place (ik you can find loopholes I can too but its an intresting story plot if it turns even a little bit like that)
