He ddiunt use it as an excuse, he was trying to explain his head space and what was going on. Absolutely messed up - and this is how it usually is in this kind of family - one starts it, and it passes on around the family. Same as violence, and abuse. Breaking the cycle is hard, but even harder when you are kids.

It started when I was 5 and didn’t stop until I was 8. It was my cousin. My aunt had to know. I hated going over to her house. I talked to him when I was 19 to clarify it actually happened. He said he wish he would’ve gotten me pregnant. I hated myself and my body until I’ve had an understanding of life. I forgave him, but I will never forget the painful things he did to me. My bf asked me about having children and I’m hesitant just because I would have to experience part of the same sexual situation that I’ve hated

@CH-bs3xr actually it is. As a parent it is our responsibility to recognize signs or change of behaviors in our children and investigate the cause. I'm sure he exhibited signs prior to her that were not taken seriously and therefore he did not get the help he needed in which played a vital role into him becoming a monster. Did you know 1 in 5 boys sexually abused become molesters themselves? The numbers are high and it's because families don't do anything about it or get them professional help.

I went for help twice (I went to therapy for almost a year and then when I lived alone) yes I still have flashes of the situation when I was young but I ignore it. I’m saying not everyone don’t get help right away but don’t do anything what they went through. I know what’s wrong. It makes me sick when the devil puts thoughts of me in that situation so I go to God for it. Prayer is better than therapy for me. And for anyone

I’ve noticed that. Especially in PoC homes. They’ll cast out a gay cousin for sinning, but molesting a child they let it go and keep it hush hush. If being gay (being with someone you love as two consenting adults that just happen to have the same genitalia) goes against your religion but touching on a child needs to be kept quite

@@skylarfulton1314Homosexuality is a sin and pedophilia is a sin. Both are bad. Consent does not define sin according to the Bible. Two people can consent to do evil deeds, that does not mean it's not a sin. A true Bible believing born again Christian could never condone pedophilia nor support it because it is evil and only lust is involved. Two men laying together is also lust and had nothing to do with love. God is love and He created Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve. Man and woman are there to get married and have children and that is the goal of sex. Everything else that is outside of a married man and woman is a sin. Fornication is a sin and pedophilia is a sin, because it is not between a man and woman but between a man and a child or a woman and a child. God did not create grown up Adam and little girl Eva. Also a Christian needs to respect the law of the land. If that law says it is illegal, then he cannot go against it. Unless the law forces him to do something that is clearly a sin, he needs to respect and abide by the law of the land.

I think its much more complex than black and white. Some children become sexually reactive once they have gone through childhood sexual abuse. They not only have their identities and boundaries distorted, they are taught to associate sexual acts with actual caring emotions. Often children who have been abused will associate an emotion with a sexual act, then with good intention show the sexual act when trying to share that caring emotion (thats the most messed up part of the abuse is the brain rewiring). I'm not saying there shouldn't be consequences for the action - however your statement is an unfortunate way to view this issue.

Plus, it is a lifetime of dealing with this trauma over and over and over again! It never feels like it was a long time ago that it happened! It is fresh in her mind EVERY DAMN DAY!! You NEVER get over this! When you close your eyes, you see him doing this to you, and you feel like you are that 3 year old going through it again RIGHT THEN!! A very sad story. I feel so bad for the lovely young woman. Steve gave great advice at the end (as usual) - sometimes people do horrible things that deeply damage other people and it can't be repaired, so you have to cut that person or people out of your life permanently and move forward for your own healthier future. This episode hurts . My sweet grandma, I out of 7 grandkids, I spent 5 days in the hospital, 24 hours . We were home 5 days before she called my phone , I was out side recording the lightening …. I wasn’t even 20 yet, I had 3 days left of being 19. She called my phone , I wasn’t 15 feet from her , from the couch to steps of the porch . I buried my grandmother on my birthday. I called my momma first, she’s a nurse. We hung up within 30 seconds and I called 911…. She was already gone by the time they got there, and a aneurism in her heart had burst . I’m 27 now , and I hurt every day not being able to save her . I blame myself, and I cry often . I hate my birthday , I hate the months April and May. Her death and birth 30 days apart .

I feel for the guy. He was the only one crying, "that was my mama." He's done some terrible things, but he loved his Mom, and no one can take that away from him. He lived with her. He's crushed, because he was close to her. Maybe she did see the Devil in him at one time. But he clearly feels bad about what he did, while under the influence of drugs, and he admitted his wrongdoings. Steve preaches unforgiveness, but God forgives you when you sincerely change. I'm *not* justifying s*xual abuse in any way, but sadly it's a "normal" reaction for some victims of s*xual abuse to become abusers themselves. It's a form of internalized attempt at healing by taking control over what happened and become the one in control, since they were helpless and out of control when it happened to them. I get your point though, I just wanted to add that because it seems like it would be the other way around since it happened to them, but in some cases it's not unfortunately.
