As one who left this cult called Mormonism, we never knew all these dark secrets. Now the secrets are being exposed as they should be. Makes us glad we left this group but also kinda sad that we were duped into it in the first place.

I would have never looked at this when I was a Mormon… & if I was told this I would have just thought it’s false attacks on the church & I wouldn’t have even looked into it…. I’m thankful I’m not trapped in that mind frame anymore

I’m only a few minutes in the video, and I’m totally impressed with your use of “outside sources” I preach this on my channel in every episode. Our channels are literally the channels that do this. Great job on your fact finding. Great episode.

The account of John C. Bennett is correct. He was in good standing with Joseph Smith when he [Bennett] asked Smith where Danite Porter Rockwell was?. Smith said to Bennett : "He's gone to fulfill prophecy". ( Smith had previously said that Boggs will die violently). Grant Palmer 's (R.I.P) work on church history is excellent. These facts fly in the face of church apologists who place the character of Joseph Smith in good standing. The quote by William Law (2nd Counselor)in relation to Smith's vile character exposed the true nature of Joseph Smith. This is not just the fallibility of men making human mistakes as apologists and tbm's desire to state. These actions are outright evil.

I think Thomas Alexander does a good job summarizing the state of the scholarly literature regarding Joseph's involvement with the Danites in Missouri in his recent book "Brigham Young and the Expansion of the Mormon Faith": "Although scholars do not question that ultra-orthodox members like Avard and Wight belonged to the Danites, Joseph's Smith's role is a matter of historical dispute. Historians Stephen LeSueur and Michael Quinn have argued that Joseph was intimately involved in the Danite activities, though Quinn conceded that the Mormons were clearly victims of the Missouri anti-Mormons. Scholar Leland Gentry, on the other hand, has argued that although Joseph supported the dissenters' expulsion from the community and that he approved of the defensive actions against the Missouri mobs and militia between June and October, he did not know of the Danites offensive action during late October. Historian Alexander Baugh wrote that Joseph knew of some of the Danite activities and participated in some attacks on non-Mormon communities, but that he endeavored 'to distance himself from the more militant Danite organization'. Historian Richard Bushman believes that the prophet knew much of what the Danites did and that Joseph offered tacit support to some of their activities, but that he declined to participate actively. Bushman also pointed out that both Smith and Rigdon used Republican rhetoric to oppose violence but approve resistance. Unfortunately, in Bushman's view, Smith received the blame for much of what the Danites did. I believe that Joseph knew of a number of their activities and that he supported some of them." Anyone studying the Danites should know that the historians who have spent their lives studying the life of Joseph don't agree on the extent of his involvement with the Danites, so you should be very skeptical of any youtube channel attempting to establish his involvement with certainty. Also any evidence of the Danites existing as an organization after the Missouri period is extremely weak and should be met with skepticism. Leonard Arrington debunked these tall tales decades ago. I would highly recommend reading Scott Thomas's Masters thesis "Violence across the Land: Vigilantism and Extralegal Justice in the Utah Territory" for a great review of the evidence on this subject.

Imagine walking across the plains to settle in the deserts of Utah. Stressed to no end being an outsider and losing your spouse or being abandoned by your polygamist spouse. Struggling and outcast deciding it was no longer worth it packing up to leave just to be murdered.

Fabulous episode! I love your content and hope your channel quickly gains a large following. I’ve always heard it pronounced “Dan-nite”, not “Dane-nite.” Have I been saying it wrong my entire life?
@BehindTheVeilOfficial5 ай бұрын
I think the way you have heard it is correct based on it being named after the tribe of Dan. But I have heard it pronounced both ways. And thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed the video!!

My great great grandfather is mentioned along side William Hickman. For years I’ve tried to find our lineage before him. Joseph Rhodes stabbed by Jason Luce. 1860. Mentioned in Willford Woodruffs journal. It’s in the old newspapers also. Hoping maybe you have any info. Interesting stuff. By studying Grandpa Joe I have discovered the history of the church is only the surface. Unbelievable Stuff. Thanks for your videos!

Mormonisms history alone , seems ungodly let alone the theological nightmare that it is. Good peole , good neighbors doesnt make their faith biblical.pray for them that they may come to know the God of the bible.

The correct pronunciation is "dan aits" phonetically. The website Bible Speak pronounces it aloud in the same way. Mormons even mispronounce Melchizedek, switching the first i and the second e. As a member(now former) and an English teacher, it always drove me crazy hearing one of their main titles mispronounced. Then there is the incorrect grammar in "temple recommend" They turn the verb recommend into a noun. It should be "temple recommendation".
@BehindTheVeilOfficial5 ай бұрын
You are correct. We did pronounce Dantie incorrectly in this video, and I do apologize for that!! That's how other members pronounced when I was a member, and I guess it just stuck. I completely agree that there are many grammatical errors in Mormonism!!

How do you pronounce the word ‘pedantic’?
@carolyearsley2 ай бұрын
@@slicgreendueler4884 If they call themselves the "one true church" they could at least pronounce their most important terminology correctly. Wouldn't you agree? The English language, as a whole, is seriously deteriorating, spoken and written. Smart phones are a big contributor to the decline, another whole discussion.

I'm curious to know what exactly you find funny. A most of our sources in this video are pulled directly from the church’s website or firsthand books written at the time. I'm not sure what you are talking about media. Media sources were a tiny part of this video.

So why did early Christians follow a similar practice? Acts 2:44-45 of the Bible describes followers of Jesus sharing their possessions in common: "And all those who had believed [in Jesus as Savior] were together and had all things in common [considering their possessions to belong to the group as a whole]. And they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing the proceeds with all [the other believers], as anyone had need". Sounds kind of like communism to me.

I love the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints thanks for this documentary on a secret sect that fell away from the church
@BehindTheVeilOfficial5 ай бұрын
I don't mean to be rude, but it seems like you didn't watch the video. This whole video was about how they didn't fall away and were under the direct control of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. I highly recommend you watch the full video, and I would love to hear your comments afterward!!

Good for you that you love the Mormon Church. Plainly you're very unfamiliar with the church history and the militia type group the Danites which were deeply embedded in the early church. Unfortunately for you your beloved religion had these thugs guilty of numerous atrocities. In every historical account you will learn that the Danites did not fall away but were used by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.

You do realize that the FLDS are called the fundamentalists because they stuck to the fundamentals of the original teachings of this faith.. They are really the best representation of what Joseph Smith developed this faith to be.. The reality is, that the Mormons or "LDS" are those who "fell away" from the church's teachings..

Danites are assassin serial killers who go around killing ppl that take orders from the lds church. They still are very much active as of today. They're a secret secular of the lds church. They claim when they kill innocent ppl that they're saving them. They hide their identities & don't like witnesses. They're also known as the daughter of zion. Religion was created by Nimrod who passed it on to Constantine. Religion was created to divide & start wars. It's a indoctrination on ppl to control them. It's a business not a service. They justify their acts by their killings. The living GOD doesn't or isn't a religion.
