Better to be running behind than not running at all. 😉

Very educational. I really need to get me a Supreme vine. Hard to beat those. It didn't appear you liked the Southland one. Tell me about that it?

It's basically a cultivated variety that similar to wild vines. Everyone had their preferences, but I'd prefer a larger and sweeter berry vs the strong muscadine flavor. I've also started leaning towards enjoying a good bronze variety over the blacks. Have you need able to harvest any off of your vines yet?

@@DeanFamilyAcres That’s awesome to hear. No grapes yet but two of my vibes are within inches of touching the 20 ft mark on each side. Hopefully next year I’ll get some fruit!

@SouthernFoodJunkie you should get some next year, pending pests leaving them alone.

Just got one question. For a backyard, would you suggest supreme or majest or one of each.
@DeanFamilyAcres4 ай бұрын
Will you have other vines? Both are female so you’ll need a self-fertile to pollinate. Either way, unless I had multiple vines I’d probably go with supreme over majesty as they traditionally produce a more uniform crop.

@@DeanFamilyAcres thanks. I already have 2 carlos growing.

Supreme would be my choice, they’re a massive step forward in breeding compared to Carlos.

Great video.I have 40 vines 9 Varieties. I grew up on black muscadines. My neighbor gave me a 1 yr old vine that was supposed to be a Late Fry from his vineyard. I planted the vine and this year it produced a ton of muscadines. The only problem is that it is a self fertile Black muscadine.🙂 Tight bunched dry scar with a strong sweet traditional muscadine flavor and is the earliest ripening muscadine i have ever seen. I was eating muscadines before the end of July. Would have any Idea what this vine could be? What is the earliest self fertile black muscadine that you know of?

I believe Lane is the earliest black cultivar. They’re usually a lower producer, but not always.

@@DeanFamilyAcres Not sure but this one may be an Ison. I will have to check the pedicels next year. These were very tight bunched. They are hard to pick they are so tight. Thanks for the reply and good luck with your vines.
