Somehow got relieved when you said footballers can still do some upper body work (for aesthetics) as long as the other aspects like speed, power, mobility etc. are still done. I'm currently on a hypertrophy phase right now and i'm glad I found this video. Keep killing it coach! 👊

Great Video once again Coach Armas, I am suprised though that the 8x5 group rested less than the 4x10 group since the sets are heavier and thus more intense.

Actually in the study both groups used the same load percentage! That’s what makes this study groundbreaking 🤯🤯

tbh ive been training for hypertrophy and "aestetics" fpr like two months now, my membership ends in nearly 2 months. so i am making the most of this, then when it ends i will be focusing on lots of speed and fitness work, still doing some strength, but not as much. i am not seeing any changes in my game to be honest

Does the new workout have to be 8 x 5 or can it be a similar range? Currently I do 4 x 8 for pull-ups, but from what I learned from this video I should do 8 x 4

Yes. Still with an emphasis on the same load as if you were doing twice the reps like I explain!

Increase load as needed. It may not happen every week but in the long run And at minimum every 2-4 weeks you should be increasing a load even if it’s small. Also note, just because you don’t increase weekly does not mean you’re not making gains. Look at the example here in the video from the study.

Same exercises year round with different variation. What determines if it’s max strength or hypertrophy is the rep ranges.

If I am a 14 year old doing squats in the gym for example if I am currently squating 20 lbs is it bad to jump straight up to 30s or 35s if that is what challenges me enough or do you need to do 25 for some time than 30 for some time to avoid getting hurt

How should a footballer who is into 30s train ? The rate of recovery decreases as one gets older .. so what method is best?

Really depends on your goals and individual needs. But typically for older footballers same main compound lifts with the addition of looking at past injury history, mobility, and a beginner progression of plyometrics like ankle hops and more emphasis on stability

a lot of this gotta do w yourself. i use to lift weights thinking it would make me shifty and agile, you gotta actually change directions with intent. the power gains will make you cover more ground with your change of direction (atleast for me) just food for thought so you don’t make the same mistakes i did

Jump rope is a type of plyometric. But I know what you’re asking. Jump rope = good for overall springiness and ankle health. Intensive plyometrics = max (speed) power and multidirectional exposure
