Bringing the Semi Gutted Tesla Model S P100D, which has had two lightweight aluminum kirkey seats installed along with no rear seats whatsoever, to Farmington Dragway and their BoostFab Championship Series where we run a few index Classes. One a little too fast for the tesla, 6.49 index and the other a 7.00 Index. Not using launch control due to trying to get a good, consistent reaction time everytime this P100D drag races through round after round in each competition class.

@@tamahawk175 No, but they are very close the demon is very daily drivable. The Tesla is too, but it has issues in that area. Although their touchscreen is better than other touchscreens, it doesn't compare to good old buttons which are easier and more satisfying to press/turn. Tesla's also have very poorly insulated cabins making road noise a huge problem and heating and cooling a little slower than other cars (along with other ev's by their very nature). The Tesla also has very poor handling, even worse than the hellcat or the demon, which is saying a lot. In fact even a $24k Honda Civic si can pull more lateral g's than ANY Tesla (the cheapest Tesla is $45k).

@@tamahawk175 It is absolutely nicer. The fake leather Tesla uses gets stained extremely easily and look terrible after just a short time. The touchscreen, although better than other touchscreens, don't compare to regular button interiors. The steering is also not nearly as responsive in the Tesla, and you can't feel the road as well. The Tesla also has brakes that are just not quite right. The Tesla also has loads of cabin noise, seats that don't hold you in very well, and annoying and small mirrors. Tesla messed up on A LOT of small details that other manufactures have mastered after decades of building cars. Tesla and Elon Musk was extremely arrogant and thought it would be easy, but now their cars have major production problems as Elon gets out of his head and into the real world.

Don't get me wrong, electric cars are the future, but right now the technology is still in it's infancy, and they are way outside the budget of the average person. I have a Mustang, and love it. However, I freely admit a Tesla will easily beat it. Though 460HP is more than I kow what to do with. If I put a Roush Supercharger on there with a 3 year warranty, then it's on the same plane as a Tesla. That said, Ford isn't the most reliable car on the road, but it certainly isn't the worst. However, Tesla is in fact one of the most unreliable cars on the road today. When even the Jeep Patriot is considered more reliable by Consumer Reports, then your Hi-Tech wonder machine has a very long way to go. Eventually, they will get there, but the safety and reliability will be at least another 10 years. Maybe longer.

Maybe we were born at the right time. We manage to experience gas cars to their fullest and we also are getting the chance to drive the car of the future. What a time to be alive! I really do wanna drive an electric car, especially if it's so much cheaper as they say... But I really hate Tesla cars. Yikes... Then there is the whole thing about tuning them to get torque. The torque band of those cars should be quite different than the tesla. These are two totally different class of cars.

DC_16 That's cos that's how electric motors are. They have great low end torque but since electric cars don't have gearboxes to keep the motor spinning at the powerband they tops out much lower than ICE cars. The P100D pretty much loses steam above 100mph and 155 is the factory limited speed. I don't think anyone has gone faster than 180 yet. It's a whole different breed of animal.
