Gotta love those mercury muscle cars. Comet, Cyclone, and more.
@jeremythompson91225 жыл бұрын
Me too. Love Ford's but actually prefer a Cougar over a Mustang or a Cyclone over a Torino. The full size Marauder's were beautiful cars too. Nicer version of a Galaxie. And can't forget the 64-67 427 Comet factory drag cars either. Always loved Mercury's. Great racing heritage. Like Plymouth, Olds, and Pontiac...its a shame Mercury is gone

Why would you order a 428 CJ and not get the Traction Lock differential? Nice car any way.
@FYMASMD6 жыл бұрын
Most likely ignorance of availability. Some people just get the biggest motor yet don't know of , or think about traction...
@Johnnycdrums5 жыл бұрын
They should change the rear differential, out of general principles alone.
@TimMartin625 жыл бұрын
Unbelievable, it would seem that one would be standard equipment. Im sure if you ordered a HEMI car you didnt have to check the box. Kind of funny.

I had one of these with a 351W back in the early 90's, mine was a regular 69 Cougar hard top, I miss that car, wish I had it back. Thanks for the video Kevin, it brings back good memories

@686Snub_NoDash6 жыл бұрын
Twilight I know 69-70 is the same but I like 60's cars more than 70's cars. my uncle had a 69 so I'm only partial to 67-69 as I stated.

I understand, "kicking ourselves" is just a figure of speech. I'm happy that you our enjoying your family, no car is worth that kind of happiness. I bought a big block Corvette (1967) awhile back and drive it only in the summer, weather permitting. I will not sell it but pass it on to my Son. Good luck to you.

Ford made some mean muscle cars but I actually prefer Mercury's. The 67-70 Cougar is a gorgeous car. I'd take a 428CJ Cougar XR7 over a 428CJ Mach 1 any day. But my favorite of all Mercury muscle cars is a 70 Cyclone Spoiler 429 SCJ /4 speed/3.91 gears. Such a mean looking car. Ford should've built a BOSS 429 Torino/Cyclone in 1969-70 instead of using the Mustang to homologate the BOSS9 engine for NASCAR. Would've made for a better balanced package in my opinion

@DoudD6 жыл бұрын
The earlier XR7s had an even more British-style interior....or instrument panel, at least. Jaguar-ish. It was no accident, I'm sure. Mercury was aiming for a more refined look and feel.

A lot of cars came without positraction yet had the huge motor. I put more blame on the manufacturers than the customers for that. Money saver. How hard is it to change? Not very. Depends how you are about mods vs stock..
@MuscleCarOfTheWeek6 жыл бұрын
Many times the customer simply didn't pay the price for it, either.

Gonna have to move that right rear to the left after all of them one wheel peals. Always disappointing to see one of these muscle cars with a one-legger axle.

Not quite fully loaded-I'm disappointed it doesn't have power windows, and you could also get cruise control and a 4 -way power driver seat. I would have ordered those too. Nice car anyway, I usually don't like green, but I like this shade.
