Why does this only have 30 million views in 2020? This must be one of the greatest rock songs of the last two decades. The creativity of instrumentation, the drum and base synchronization, the choice of guitar distortion, the back-up vocals blended with piano, and the fearlessness to bring the tempo down at key points in the song. It's one of richest and most full-blooded rock songs ever. Maybe it's because Muse was ahead of it's time. Maybe my grandchildren will truly appreciate it.

Even though he's passed his spirit lives on. "Legends live on... Only man comes to an end" Kevin wasn't any ordinary man. R.I.P

This feels like what should have been the natural followup to Blackholes and Revelations. Flows nicely out of that and Absolution.

Wesley Shark those albums including Drones are so on point that you can play them all in order without skipping any tracks....Such diverse sounds. This is why they're so good

I'm turning 27 in a few months and I discovered Muse when I was around 10 years old. How? It all started when I kept playing every single afternoon with F1 05 for PS2, destroying the ears of my parents and telling them how hard I dreamt to drive for Ferrari one day. The trailer of the videogame was a sick racing montage with Butterflies & Hurricanes as soundtrack. I'm Italian, I was young and I didn't really understood the lyrics so I googled them: immediately felt in love with the song and the band. Fast forward to the 20th of May of this year: a friend of mine from Florence told me about the possibility to send the application to join the Scuderia as a truck driver (basically my job, even If currently I'm a bus driver, I've been a truck driver all around Europe for the last years). I never believed in coincidences but I gotta admit, so far they have been unsettling: the same year "Drones" was released I lost my mother due to cancer so I abandoned the high school and never finished it. Despite this, I always managed to work in my life and the absence of a high school degree never precluded me any job possibilities until these weeks. The Scuderia Ferrari's HR I already had 2 interviews with, told me the absence of a high school degree could be a problem for the high ranks in the team. Well, exactly 9 years after "Drones" was released (5th June 2015 so yesterday was the anniversary) I received the call: even If I never managed to get the diploma, Ferrari is officially considering my application to become the newest truck driver of the F1 team and has scheduled the final job interview on the 17th of June. It might sound needless to say but as soon as I hanged up the call (while crying for joy, of course), I accidentally touched my earphones and Spotify automatically started the shuffle playing Mercy: a song I always read like the story of someone who finally sees the end of his struggles and begins to be positive about his life. Nothing is already 100% sure about the job yet but for the VERY first time in my life, I'm believing in my experiences and my skills, telling non-stop to myself that I can really fucking make it for once in my life. I really hope and believe to come back in few weeks below this video to say the dream to drive for Ferrari finally came true and I destroyed the ears of my mother for a good reason when I was a kid, even If It's not going to be a F1 car. Thanks Muse for the hope I feel, whatever happens.

Long story short: on the 2nd of July I went to Maranello for the in-person interview. I got the call two days ago where they told me the job is mine and now I'm just waiting for them to get back at me with the contract proposal. I still can't believe it.

"Mercy" lyrics MUSE LYRICS "Mercy" Help me I've fallen on the inside I tried to change the game I tried to infiltrate But now I'm losing men in cloaks Always seem to run the show Save me from the ghosts and shadows Before they eat my soul Mercy, mercy Show me mercy From the powers that be Show me mercy Can someone rescue me Absent gods and silent tyranny We're going under hypnotised By another puppeteer And tell me why the men in cloaks Always have to bring me down Running from the ghosts and shadows The world just disavows Mercy, mercy Show me mercy From the powers that be Show me mercy Can someone rescue me Show me mercy Show me mercy please Help me I've fallen on the inside And all the men in cloaks Trying to devour my soul Show me mercy From the powers that be Show me mercy From the gutless and mean Show me mercy From the killing machines Show me mercy Can someone rescue me damn this song is good
