Mushroom Hunting - July 2023 - Spruce and Beech Forest - Red capped scaber stalk | Scarletina bolete

This mushroom hunting video was recorded on 5th July 2023 in Slovakia, Europe. It shows early summer mushrooms growing under spruces and beeches. I'm picking Red-capped scaber stalks (Leccinum piceinum) and Scarletina boletes (Neoboletus luridiformis). At the end of the video, there is also a comparison between Scarletina bolete and Bitter beech bolete (Caloboletus calopus)

Yes, when I forage in Slovakia, I carry a bear spray. We have quite many bears here and there is always a chance to meet some. Thanks for the comment :)

Its been very wet here in Ireland there's a few mushrooms here and there, im expecting if it dries up and warms up a bit there should be a lot more, its been 15 degrees at best past few weeks.

What do you do with the mushrooms that you find? Do you sell them? Or dry them for future use?

I don't sell them. Usually I dry them or just give away fresh to my family or friends.
