This video shows mushroom hunting of the following mushroom species: Red-capped scaber stalk (Leccinum aurantiacum), European aspen bolete (Leccinum albostipitatum), Birch bolete (Leccinum scabrum) and Hazel bolete (Leccinum pseudoscabrum). It was recorded on 15th September in Slovakia, Europe.

I hunted those lots in Rocky Mountain House in the bush close the walking trail , I ate and I dried them to eat later , the are delicious

Remember to exercise caution when picking certain species in the rain as some Amanita can appear to be a different type for instance.

Do you ever find bitter bolete? How can you tell the difference with edible boletes? I found one once and it looked so much like a birch bolete..

Yes, sometimes I do find Tylopilus felleus. They can get very similar to bay boletes too, or even to ceps. They are quite variable. The best sign is the dark reticulation on stem and pinkish color at the bottom of the hat when they get older.

Probably ceps, bay boletes and red-caps. Ceps are the most satisfying because they are huge and smooth :))
