Both Arlecchino and Signora's theme share a leitmotif because they're part of the same organization known as the Fatui. Currently there are two other Fatui bosses: Scaramouche and Tartaglia whose themes are also a great listen, with the former being my favorite boss theme in the game. And since you've enjoyed the boss and battle themes so far, I'd recommend "Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie" which is a battle theme for a time limited event.

Fascinating, on subsiquent listens i have noticed some similarities which are explained by the leitmotif they share. I'll definately be checking out those other boss theme's and am interested in the limited time event one as well :D thanks for the recommendations

Also, the children choir is put there for a reason. Arlecchino or The Knave is the head of the orphanage. A little fact is that these orphans are trained to be Fatui soldiers (someone already said in the comments that Fatui is an organisation, most people view them as "evil", but, I believe, almost all of the Harbingers from Fatui that we met in the game are morally gray) The fight itself, well... It is sure EPIC. Especially that one particular cutscene gives me goosebumps

Real name: Peruere. "New name": Arlecchino Codename: The Knave 4th of the 11 Fatui Harbingers, a group of high-ranking officers who work for the Tsaritsa (god of ice) and are based in Snezhnaya (Genshin's Russia). She killed the prevous Knave or "Mother" and was invited to join the Fatui in her place. After joining the Fatui she took over the management of the House of Heart orphanage, the same ophanage she was rased in. The ophanage raises kids to become Fatui againts and soldiers but unlike the previous leader of the house "Mother" Crucabena she seems to really care for her children in her own way. And hasn't taken rhe name "Mother" instead the kids call her "Father"

upon listening to it a few more times I had a feeling it might have been a female singer but thanks for clarifying that. Also super interesting about how they use Dubstep, will have to listen for that in future songs

indeed often when they use dubstep or anything too much modern it means we are dealing with a cosmical being and that the battle will be Epic. Whenever it's too much orchestral and solemn it often also means we are dealing with either a Harbinger or a Godly being. And funny fact every harbinger we fought has a form of power up (known as foul legacy to genshin players) which uses of course cosmical kinds of corruptive energy so often when we reach that 2nd phase the orchestra is joined by electronical music or metal/rock music too. Genshin has lots of ways of conveying to the player of what kind of being they are confronting. For exemple Apep's guardian, since we are dealing of a protector of a ancient Dragon Sovereign, it's music is very orchestral and is anchored into the regions style of song (which is very oriental one for Sumeru) Arlecchino is by the way one of these Harbingers and here we can hear how much her song evolves when she enters phase 2 and she starts really going for the kill on the player. To this day Arlecchino origines of her strange power are unknown to the players, but it might also have to do with outer worldly powers or cosmical energy, in the game we see her often literally "glitching" in real time, which is part of her normal animations basically as if she "bugs" or something we see her phasing around and moving as if she's a computer screen glitching and not being able to display the right image, this is part of her strange powers of which the only thing players know is that they are a curse.

Fatui boss themes are all amazing, there's currently 4 of them, Tartaglia/Childe, La Signora, Scaramouche and Arlecchino. All of them have a common letimotif but they are all different at the same. Also one thing about genshin, dubstep is very very rare, but everytime there's a dubstep theme, its to show whatever entity it is is from another world, and given how this character when you have her in your party, suddenly glitches in her idle animation and then look directly at the player while shushing you, as in ("you saw "nothing"), makes her creepier to me. Shes more of a morally gray character than outright evil but to me shes scary. The glitch also continues when you pause the game while any other idle animation freezes of other characters when the game is paused.

You say that it sounds like insanity and like someone losing their mind, but funnily enough, Arlecchino is actively holding back and controlling herself there :D She still wipes the floor with her opponents, but the horror of facing her comes from the fact that yeah, her "Bloody Fiery Blender 9000 that kills you if you don't dodge it Real Fast" move is her holding back. But also her cursed powers have negative side effects, so to say, and she wears a mask of polite professionalism pretty much all the time, so this soundtrack could indeed be viewed as a glimpse under the mask.

@fluorescent_shrimp ill give wriothesly a pass but every other tall man is bishi faced and very lean and lithe to the point the voice actors are putting in the work of making them have any sense of maturity. I know it's a thing for the make them attractive to raise sales. But some people want older and buff men that look like older men that are buff. I was really hoping Capitano would be the guy to have that physique that says strongest man in teyvat but now my only hope is that the helmet stays on cause he does not look as thick in game as he does in every other bit of promotional material he's in.

Arlecchino, or Father as we call her, is one of the best boss fights in the game and her music fits her perfectly. She is playable and even though she’s listed as a pyro polearm user, her weapon is a scythe. You should definitly check out the MV for this battle theme, though it's only the transition part and phase 2 of the fight that's in it. It's still worth watching since it's a live orchestra with the choirs and the lead singer. Just look for "Absolutio Absoluta Absolutissime - Parting of Light and Shadow MV".

@@GrimGrooves2 It's not gameplay, they call it a MV but it's like the Fontaine live symphony video you reacted to. But if you look through the various videos posted on the official Genshin Impact KZbin channel, there's some that have a bit of gameplay in it, though it's mostly a sort of playable character showcase. Plus they also post the OST of the game in their channel as well.

for this theme I've always loved phase 1 and transformation and then the majority of phase 2 but as soon as it went edm dubstep I figured they should fire the conductor. The narwhal also had dubstep and some house edm which is fine it sounds ok even though its generic but I feel like they tried to be too artistic with this to the point of ruining a good song with wildly out of place dubstep. I don't care if something is generic I just care if the listening experience is too abstract or destroys the flow of a song.

A lot of people don't really like dubstep/edm all that much and that's okay, it's understandable with it being so far removed from the standard classical influences and everyone has their own tastes. For me though, I adore when artists/composers take chances and experiment and even if i may not play the song daily I can still very much appreciate the elements I like even if they may be very disjointed to some people.

I told you they wanted to take an artistic approach to make it sound like large steel cables snapping since her power is like strong spider webs that she can stand on and use but it's jarring. My least favorite part was right after with the asynchronous "bwams" and then the loud screeching synth. The narwhal was better in my opinion since they had the whole song in a quick flow there was no pause switch up and then asynchronous notes it was all 1 go straight through and they used whale noises and heavily mixed operatic sections with a combined house mix backtrack. Also the sounds they used for the mix like the whale were high pitched but weren't ear piercing. There's the full explanation breakdown
