Additionally, if you look at the lyrics to the first ending and the second ending, in the first one she's terrified and stressed out and panicking and complaining the entire time. In this one she's talking shit to the monsters she's facing, because this is the point in the series where she's started to get overpowered. Plus, since she's a voice actor and not a metal singer, you *know* those were some legit SCREAMS from her.

Oh. The hip-hop in Samurai champloo is actually in the show's whole OST and opening. The ending is the one with least hip-hop influence. The show is like Samurai things in hip-hop music settings

@@smileybones9172 yeah, the tune is very much in the lauryn hill, fugees style of hip hop jam, very chilled out and soul-forward. has a semi-improvised, singsongy delivery of the verses with a strong, shout section of harmonized voices on the chorus. it's not THE most hip hop track on the soundtrack, but it fits right in with all the jazzy lo-fi that the producers tended towards throughout.

Yes, I totally think that if he would like to see some of the more hip hop side of the series he should watch the anime, it is just a masterpiece and there is a lot of the hiphop culture inside the world setting and if you like the genre it is quite a treat to see and listen, there is even a whole episode about graffiti.

To be fair, Nujabes didn’t perform pure Hip Hop, he performed Lo-Fi even before it was called Lo-Fi. Nujabes is credited as the original Lo-Fi artist and the father of the genre, it’s his own style of Hip-Hop and that’s what makes it special

Since you liked the "So I'm a Spider, so what?" Ending, you should check the first one out too. The vocals in that are INSANE. It's called "Do your best Kumoko-chan" or "Ganbare Kumoko-chan"

The Pillows always gave me a cool garage band feel, that sort of dirty, buzzy sound makes me feel like I'm in a makeshift 'studio' being pleasantly overwhelmed by the volume of everything and getting infected by the band's enthusiasm.

About the spider one,without spoiling too much,she stays alone in the dungeon for so long so you can imagine what that would do to the human mind. The Ed perfectly reflects that with her head being absolute chaos in rock form with a bunch of parallel voices speaking to her and she’s speaking to them during the song. I don’t think there is a better way to represent her in one Ed other than this one.

Yus Shiki no Uta one of my favorite ending of all time. Such a great and chill ending for one of the dopes anime of all time. Who knew hip hop, Lofi, and rnb sound track would fit a story about samurai. God I miss the early 2000s. Take me back!!! You definitely need to skim the ost it some great beat and tracks that are just super chill and fit the mood of every scene in the show.

For the summer time render track you hit the nail on the head for alot of the vibes the song was trying to give off. You said it sounds creepy and it matches the show because its creepy lol. The weird rhythmic lyric delivery in the spider one is actually because shes kinda speaking like full on conversational lines question/answer by herself as a character from the show. And ofc doing that while staying in time with a bpm as fast as this would end up like that XD. Hard to listen to the layers in this one but there are so many and its crazy. _FLCL_ and _Samurai Champloo_ both have phonemical endings. While _Champloo_ has an overall hip-hop soundtrack, the ending theme is definitely more R&B. I STRONGLY recommend checking out other songs from the soundtrack! Nujabes, one of the composers, is widely considered one of the godfathers of lo-fi hip-hop.

For the spider show, this is the second ending. The first one is her complaining about being reborn as a lowly spider and having to deal with all these big monsters, but by season 2 she has become the most terrifying creature in the dungeon and the lyrics to the second ending is all about her taunting people because she's stronger than them.

There's also a stark difference between the first and second ED, the first one being very pumpy, overcharged speedcore, while the second ED is your average japanese speed metal. I'd love to hear his reaction to the first ED, as speedcore is my favourite genre and I'd like to hear what he has to say about it.

Shiki no Uta is a beautiful song but it sounds like your experience was colored by the expectation of having read that blurb. Plenty of tracks in Champloo are hip hop but this is not one of them. I hear it and I'm instantly transported back to 2006, falling asleep (or waking up) to it playing as the episode ended at 2 AM lol. A surreal feeling in memory. Now if you want some actual Champloo hip hop you'll want to check out a track like San Francisco, the final ED of the show.

FLCL or FoolyCooly (the first closing track you listened to) is a fucking RIDE of a show, short but powerful. Six episodes of chaos packed so dense with plot and metaphor it'll leave you reeling. But you don't need to understand what's happening to enjoy the ride, and FLCL has a way of sucking you in anyways. My favorite anime of all time, straight up rewired my brain chemistry when I was 11 watching it.

aint no way he said shiki no uta not his favorite..... jk im biased cause its my favorite, checking out the samurai champloo soundtrack would be fun and i think once you hear it all you would feel this song fits right in, the hip hop thing definitely threw you off but the opening and other background music as well as themes in the anime contribute more to that hip hop label. "Who's Theme" also by minmi is another amazing song and is also used in the show!

Myth & Roid is easily one of my favorite anime musicians. They have so many great/fun songs. Shadowgraph, Tragedy: Eternity, L.L.L, Styx Helix, Frozen Rain, etc. Also I think you should check out Viva Namida by Yasuyuki Okamura! It's the opening for Space Dandy, also created by the dame guy who made Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. The show followed a rule of only using instruments that existing in the 80's (tho I can't remember if the opening also followed that). It's a pretty fun and funky opening th.

I really love the Spider EDs. People have already mentioned it, but they're sung by the VA of the MC, Aoi Yuuki, who is so talented it's crazy. The first ED is all about how unfair it is that she's a spider and how it's BS that everything she faces is so OP and how she's always on the brink of death, while the second OP is her basically shit talking all those same monsters now that she's OP 😂

I can't speak on the other animes here as I havent watched them, but the two I have watched in Samurai Champloo and FLCL, both have fantastic OST's. Nujabes (R.I.P) and the Pillows are legends.

Overlord is sick and deff worth the watch. It's a cool-unique PoV of the MC being this conquering villain with overwhelming strength that isn't just there for some hero to thwart and save the world from him. One of my personal favs for sure.

I think the fact that you don't have any related feels to the show that made it's harder to be connected to Shiki no Uta because i feel the same the first time i hear that song. But after i finish the show it feels so unique and no other music piece ever replace the experience. Samurai Champloo are different

Oh wow I heard Spider ED was a banger from a few anime review people but I didn't know it was this much of a banger. Aoi Yuuki also sang Los Los Los, I should have picked that up but I was just too uninterested to anything isekai when it aired. Aoi Yuuki isn't gonna be making a Poppy debut so def checking this song's credits because we don't have enough kawaii metal so I have to pick up some scraps.
