Unfortunately it gets overshadowed by hyped up battle shonen. But it really is unmatched in my opinion. It easily has one of the best soundtracks, animation, voice acting, and story. I don't even think it will be nominated for an anime awards. But at least it has passionate fans out there and does get some recognition.

Fr but this year has had very amazing animes already. Frieren, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, Bokuyaba, Mushoku tensei. All of those could make it to the top 5 of the year with Hibike as well

Man before watching it i had near zero knowledge about music in general but also concert bands but now like after 7 years of following the series i can not be anything but a nerd for all that it was also why i started watching your music analysis as i was obsessed with all those layers that make music 😂just fascinating stuff and now after it ended it stands as my second favourite piece of media ever

I hope you watched the spin-off movie "Liz and the blue bird" as well. That movie was beautiful, not only the music, but also the love put in the production, I've watched a making-of and the amount of thought and research that is put into every little detail is astonishing. The sound recordings of authentic sounding steps echoing in an empty hallway, band members unpacking and tuning their instruments, etc; the opening scene alone, the hidden meaning in so many subtle details, like how Nozomi walks in front with her confident gait (they also don't walk like machines, they have their own little quirks in the way they walk) and Mizore that walks behind with a more timid gait and how that dynamic shifts over the course of the movie, it's just fun. The subtlety of this piece of media is just incredible and Yamada Naoko is one of my favorite directors of this era.

I love this anime with all my heart and the second opening (Soundscape by TRUE) is my favorite of all anime. Hopefully, you'll get to react to it one day. Also since you're watching the anime, it would be nice to see your reaction to any of Kitauji's presentations as well.

I know the openings have always been more peppy, which is of course on purpose. But my absolute favorite opening for Hibike! Euphonium is "Dream Solister - Movie Version." It is the first opening but arranged as an orchestra. There is also a wind orchestra version that is great. I definitely recommend checking them out as well as the full soundtracks for the full versions of songs we don't get to hear in the anime.

Omg I love this anime soooooooo much,the story telling line, the emotion embedded in every episode, I can’t believe it’s been almost a decade since the first season came out, kyoani sure did a good job as usual. Hope you reacts more ost, especially the Liz and the blue bird one.

I wouldn't listen to this track outside of anime, but as an anime theme track it's good, sometimes it's nice to go back to tracks that you don't listen to on a regular basis, and listen to them along with anime footage. And.... I love this anime so much, this is one of my favorite anime, especially season 1 and 2 and the movie "Liz and the bluebird". Season 3 turned out well too, but I don't think there was enough screen time to tell the story as well as in the first two seasons.

This is my favorite opening of hibike euphonium, in fact I got the cd. Hibike is a really beautiful anime, especially the last season. During my trip to Japan I was lucky enough to find a collaboration with the Kyoto Tower, it was beautiful, I even put the video on KZbin. I wanted to ask you, will you ever react to what many consider the best anime ending ever? I'm talking about kimi no shiranai monogatari, the ending of bakemonogatari written by Ryo of supercell.

I am very aware. I should have made the distiction as I get lazy with vocab and generzlie the word horn for brass in quick moments and dont actually mean french horn.

I wouldn't say only for music people, I went into it because I enjoy organic characters and character interactions, as well as character study type of shows with a broad character cast. The characters in this show just feel so much more like real people to me than in most other shows and it's great. But yeah, obviously for music people as well.

It was just meant as an addendum for people who read that comment because, same as you, I wanted to give further incentive for people to watch the show, I was just highlighting other genre aspects of the show, like it being a slow pace character study.

So, I honestly don't know if this is something you would/could do, but have you ever listened or reacted to Miracle of Sound? He has an incredibly wide range of vocals and styles; he writes music inspired by games, tv and movies. He did a collab with The Charismatic Voice called Purest Gold a little while ago, and it is FIRE. If you wouldn't be comfortable reacting on video, may I humbly suggest checking it out in private? It is awesome, and the video editing is also top notch; it tells a full story using game cinematics.

May I ask you to react to all four openings to Tokyo Ghoul? I’d say to start with the actual openings then check out the full version for Unravel. And just to point out that the second opening is a perfect representation of Kaneki’s (main protagonist) mindset.

Only a short version from the Tokyo ghoul opening and a cover by Ado. And, it's a pity that there are no videos from Ling Tosite Sigure or TK from LTS on the channel. It would be interesting to see the reactions to these music bands.
