For actual branded artists trying to come up, 3-5yrs is expected as the catalog and campaigning needs time to ripple out even with tiktok/15min of fame instatraction... However, if you're a music business pro + an artist, you don't need 5yrs. 1-2yrs, a decent sized catalog (your own music or you have a good ear and acquire it/own it), operate as many artist names, and you can fast-track a lot of this. It all depends on the early parts of the journey. If you're just the artist, and you don't own your masters/100% of your art, it can take longer. If you're a hybrid producer/artist/label you can be huge in very little time while staying under the radar operating as many 'artist names'.

The first 10 minutes of this is so real. I wasn’t making money from my original music so I decided to create a brand about the subculture my music would fall under. It first started as throwing events for that subculture(I make alternative and emo influenced hip hop) that then led to me writing a book about emo music, which blew up on TikTok and made me 5 figures in one month. I am now in a position where I make a full time living from my brand and will now use some of that money to promote my music via Instagram and TikTok ads. You guys can do this. I also want to point out I do not have a large following (only 16k on TikTok) but because of the niche, I have really passionate and loyal audience.😊

so I hate to comment but this dude, thought his intentions are good, has no ides what music or marketing is. Sorry to spill the beans, just look at the way he carries himself, and then turn to the left and look Scooter Braun. Music business is like any other business, it's about presentation., Need proof, here it is: let's say tomorrow beyonce or Billie eilish decided to collab with your services, do you think she would collab with this guy and show him to the world? Sorry to be an asshole but somebody needs to tell the truth about looks and branding and how you carry yourself. Sorry again to be an asshole but whoever doesn't understand how entertainment business works needs to back off. Look good, look different, look challenging, talk with confiction (given that you either present a good artist or are a good one yourself) then start giving advice. Last thought: I've been watching brandman for some time and although I don't agree with most of what you say, I see you as superstars, the way you talk and carry yourselfl It's called E,N, T, E, T, a, i, n, m,e, nt, which means fake as fuck and people love it. So I believe both can exist at the same time. The majority doesn't care about smoke and mirrors and long as you are the magician that is not exposed. However I agree with Russ in saying this an era of niches. You have a smaller audience that'll appreciate. But the audience is out there waiting to say "i thought that was what I was actually looking for but its ACTUALLY THIS". Anyone thinking big and not knowing what truly is small is not thinking big.
