LOVEBITES has elevated heavy metal to an art level. The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude" In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to. When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song. Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony". Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete. LB's songs will give you new discoveries and surprises for each song.

MIYAKO started classical piano at the age of 3 and is a concert hall class pianist. She started playing guitar at the age of 18 and has a signature model of the DEAN guitar. She also plays bass, drums, Spanish guitar, and more. I think the reason why she has a different atmosphere than a typical metal guitarist is probably because she has a more pianist-like concentration.

Yes, Miyako is a concert level classical pianist. Somebody commented that Lovebites turned metal music into art. Their musicianship and skills are beyond belief. Some people say that they’re redefining metal.

The piano you were hearing is on a backing track that Miyako recorded, she controls that from her pedalboard. ❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘 The dark haired Guitar player is the piano player, her name is Miyako & she composed this song as well 5 others for the Electric Pentagram album. The lead singer Asami writes most of the lyrics.

Lonnie, I’m not disagreeing or criticising, but where did you get the information about the foot pedal piano trigger? I ask because Lovebites use backing tracks but not they’re not overused. It’s one reason why they don’t do improvised solos etc because they need to keep “on track”. I just assumed the piano is part of the backing track, especially as I can’t ever catch Miyako triggering them, other than the usual effects pedals

@@alekhidell I can't say that it's 100 % fact, it's just what I've heard from some long time fans. Regardless, a backing track has to be triggered by someone, either at the start of a song or during the song.

Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the greatest classical composers of all time. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as a prelude, but it’s not normally included in their shows.

Just another little tid-bit of info. Asami studied ballet for many years. Hence all those graceful movements on stage. Near the end she was performing 'the dying swan' part from "Swan Lake". Look for her in the background of the featured guitar & piano sections. To really get a better sense of her skills, have a look at 'Frozen Serenade'. It also has more of Miyako on the piano, and also with Midori on a Spanish acoustic guitar. The whole thing is more like a 'production', rather than just a song.

Miyako is the one on piano, she is also the guitarist on the right!! She is phenomenal playing both instruments!! The drummer is Haruna, an unstoppable force!! Asami's voice is so powerful, and then you have their ballads where she sounds like an angel!! Asami (vocals) is the Lyricist for almost all of their songs, Miyako (pianist here, who also plays the first lead guitar solo) is the main composer and wrote this piece incorporating parts of 2 Chopin (show pan) Etudes and part of Dvorak's New World Symphony.Too late for me to really say more, but I'm sure you have lots of songs on your 'Lovebites List'. The only word to describe Swan Song is Masterpiece. BTW - if you watch it again try to notice Miyako's face during the piano parts - she Never Opens Her Eyes during any of the piano parts of this song!

For those who want to appreciate Miyako's ability to fuse classical and metal, I recommend the following tracks. "DYSTOPIA SYMPHONY" Basically, I don't think there is a ranking of superiority or inferiority among LOVEBITES songs. (Although there are songs that I personally like...). But this song is an exception for me. The euphoria of the melody that runs at super high speed that I feel is top level. "DYSTOPIA SYMPHONY" makes me think that Beethoven has come back to life and created a new song in collaboration with Miyako. However, there doesn't seem to be a live video for this song. Miyako, the Golden Touch, the dexterity of that left hand is amazing. An 8min MASTERPIECE, so fast, and agreed Haruna kills it. Because this song is so melodic it's easy to overlook how fast it is. Great selection and reaction! I recommend ADDICTED live, starts with acoustic and is a banger. Doesn't get reacted to enough. Don't worry, you'll learn the names soon enough. Exploring J metal/rock can be overwhelming but in a good way. 😉 🐺🦊 Haruna = pound for pound the best drummer imho. She's very petite.

Yes, they do write their own lyrics, just 2 songs being an exception, Asami the singer has written 28 songs, Miho 12 songs, Haruna and Midori 1 each, Miyako has never written lyrics, but does majority of the music itself. Miyako is a genius musician, as you can see by her Piano and Guitar abilities, and her incredible songwriting, so far you have seen 2 songs by her, Swan Song and Shadowmaker, but you will encounter lots more.

There are ways that the outro guitar solo could be all Midori - harmonizer or pitch shifter pedals - rather than a backing track, but it's most likely a backing track. As others have said, the drummer's name is Haruna. Haruka is the name of -Sailor Saturn- the guitarist from another Japanese band, the incredible Asterism.
