Nothing makes me (for me) happier than when a musician who knows instruments does a Lovebites reaction with the same conclusion - these ladies can play and are next level talent. I've yet to see someone who actually knows music tear them down. A testament to just how great they really are. Loved the reaction and hope you do more Lovebites. 🤘🐺 PS. LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics: If this was the last day you could live on this earth Would you still go on, accusing someone for today It’s better to fail than not do anything at all It is not the length, but depth of life that counts Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life Sometimes the life of one can save so many more Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: miyako / both Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: midori ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) from Electric Pentagram 2020

Thank you for choosing this for your next Lovebites reaction. For your viewers who may not be familiar with classical music: Chopin was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the greatest classical composers of all time. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as a prelude, but it’s not normally included in their shows.

The piano Miyako is playing is a Roland electronic grand piano.🎹🎹😊😊
@ahodori22332 жыл бұрын
The electronic piano that Miyako played was a rental one, and she touched it for the first time on the day of the concert. She couldn't get used to the unique key touch of the electronic piano, so she practiced all the time between rehearsals. The Chopin piece performed by Miyako as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude" In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to. When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song. Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony". Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete. LB's songs will give you new discoveries and surprises for each song.

First of all man, there's no need to apologise for stopping, and rewinding parts with your comments. That's all cool. Yes, to acknowledging their influences from the music I grew up with from the early 70's. Just a note. Asami studied ballet for some years, and all those beautiful fluid movements, at the end of the song, are the dying swan scene from 'Swan Lake' from what I've read. When you watch 'A Frozen Serenade' you will see more of her ballet skills. So you've only listened to two songs and already you get what the 'White Wolves' are all about. You've got my sub for that.

Great review. You pronounce their names perfectly, BTW. The lyric is singing about the life, your life and any life, and singing death of heroes, and dedication and sacrifice, honor and glory. The hero can be a mother, a father, a fireman or a policeman in your town anyone who dedicates to the others. This theme concerns with the motif of Chopin Revolutionary Etude as its intro. Revolutionary Etude is said that Chopin wrote this piece in anger and desperation knowing the failure of uprising by Polish cadets and the people against Russian ruling. It is just like a dying swan singing her last song.

It has probably already been mentioned, but Swan Song is one of Miyako's compositions and, in my opinion, one of her best. Of the 45 songs in the Lovebites catalog (excluding instrumentals). Miyako has composed 20 of them, plus one she cowrote with Miho. Since Lovebites started, they have been assisted by a keyboardist/composer named Mao who was in a really good power metal band called Light Bringer that ended in 2014. All of the songs written by Miho (10), Asami (4) and Midori (2) were in collaboration with Mao. He has also composed 5 songs on his own, one of which is Holy War. Other than the song with Miho (Break the Wall), Miyako composes alone. In a 2020 interview, Miyako talked about her songwriting process - "For the songs that I wrote, I make a demo with all the parts arranged and have other members copy their parts. Then other members may arrange their parts differently, but generally not too far off from the original demo. We have a sixth member of the band called Mao. He composes with us and co-arranges with members or by himself. I respect him very much and I respect our rivalry to out compose each other." Of the 5 Mao compositions, I consider his masterpiece to be Edge of the World which is one of the "E" songs. The other two "E" songs are Epilogue (Asami/Mao) and Empty Daydream (Miyako). I hope you react to all 3 of these songs. In the last couple of years, Mao and Asami have been assisting a new all female band called Lonesome Blue. Mao is their producer and Asami wrote all the lyrics on their EP. Their first full album will be released in December. They just released a music video for the song Face the Fear which will be the first track on their new album. Excellent song - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2iwqmmfiLV1opY

thanks to the classical elements Miyako brings to the stage. Her piano is all over this one, gracefully running up and down the scales as the band sprints toward the finish line,it's phenomenal.Of course we get another onslaught of guitar soloing in the bridge.which pulls off some slick key changes before the final chorus, which then pulls off another key change back to the main riff, and that’s where Miyako really goes nuts on the piano, with her fast but elegant performance being the last.this one as a big, emotional closing number.

Thanks for the reaction. To be honest, I thought that you forgot about LOVEBITES. 🤭You analyze the song (lyrics, music, arrangement)👍 in detail, so I decided to add some information. Maybe it will be useful to you.🤗 "Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland. "Swan song" ( lyrics - Asami , music -Miyako) from the third album LOVEBITES "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of swans is amazingly beautiful. "Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together. In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video.

And by this I don't mean that I don't like watching Midori play.... They are M&M, my left and right ears. Enjoy more Lovebites. You're probably the first person to mention "Jim Steinman" after watching Love Bites. Jim Steinman was certainly a musical and theatrical composer. Many of the songs I provided to Meat Loaf, Air Supply, Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion, etc. have a musical composition. Love Bites also has works like opera and musicals, such as "Frozen Serenade", so I guess he thought so.

Asami trained in Ballet in the US for a few years, then I think she was injured which ruined her dance career, however; she found her voice and she is magnificent. All of these ladies are magnificent in their fields and most of them are multi-instrumentalists. Miyako does most of the arrangements but I could be wrong. Asami is the lyricist, again; I could be wrong. Haruna can out-kick an Ostrich, and Midori is the most animated but still holds pace with Miyako. Miho, left the band last year (2022) and was replaced by Fami. BOTH are excellent bassists. Fami has made her mark though, she just stepped right up to the plate during the auditions. So, that's all I think I know about this band. Oh, Midori is also a competitive bodybuilder... check out her guns in their newest videos. Keep on reacting and we'll keep on watching.

Asking for a "slower melody" from a speed metal band? Yeah.........
@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl2 жыл бұрын
That is assuming a speed metal band is all they are. They are so much more and all of the tracks people recommended that were more melodic were exactly what I was wanting to hear. I will do some of the more traditional speed metal stuff from them as well since I like that too, I just heard a lot of soul in their playing and singing and was curious if they were as good at that as well. Their arrangements and feeling exceeded my expectations.

"Like a feminine pad!" Seriously???? Would you have made that rude comment if it was a male band? I seriously doubt it! Disgusting!!!!
@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl2 жыл бұрын
Actually, yes I would have because that was the joke that came to mind because of the word, not the make-up of the band. Sorry that you found it disgusting though. My humor can be a bit non PC.

@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl I don't know if you would have made the comment if it was a male band or not, but I'll take you at your word. But that's really not the point. I spent 6 years in the military - 4 of which were in a combat zone. Believe me, I have heard pretty much every "non-PC" joke and comment that there is. And I have no problem with a little crude humor now and then. However, there's a time and place for it. Making that comment while reviewing a band of 5 beautiful young ladies was both misogynistic and classless. Just to let you know, I will not be visiting your channel again.

@@ralphboyer2538 I appreciate your comments even if I don't agree. I went in and blurred that comment out because, if it offended you, I'm sure someone else got offended even if they didn't say so. My sister agreed with you BTW although she said I am as far from misogynistic as you get. I just have no line when it comes to humor. Thank you for watching and sorry again.

6 years? Lol. Couldn’t make the 20? That’s exactly who we need defending women on the internet. Half assed quitters. Joke. But thank you for your part time service I guess. Whatever.
