A lot of this music changes based on what is happening, calm versions when there is no enemies, very intense versions when you are overran or overwhelmed, etc This makes some of the music sound odd because it’s meant to background the gameplay/fighting not be the main attention in a video

(no spoilers here) Having epic music for in-game events, without knowing how long they're going to last (it depends on the players), seems really REALLY tricky to get right. For the terminid music, I get subtle overtones of the "crisis music" and "tension music" from Star Trek (the original series). Except done better, on a larger scale, and set to a less "campy" setting. For the automaton music, I get a lot of "Empire" vibes (a la star wars). Definitely suits the red-lights. Then the tuba comes in and gives that "war horn" vibe. It's very well done. The subtle "clanging" in the background is also very apt. This is my first time listening to the music without terrifying events unfolding on screen. And the combat music feels "very dire", which perfectly suits the situations I can picture unfolding in game. There's a TON of "We've almost got this! ...Oh ...Oh no, Oh no no no, expletive-panic-expletive-panic-expletive-panic". And only with a lot of experience and skill, comes a quiet sense of "We _might_ still got this ...maybe ...probably not ...but maybe". There's "Hail Mary" vibes all over this game "Hell ...Diver" is very appropos. And the way events unfold, can become very unexpectedly chaotic and critical. It's the best movie I've ever played hehe. The only thing missing here, is the cacophony of gunfire and explosions, the smattering of character voices "grenade out!", "last magazine!", etc. and the fire of airstrikes lighting up the low hanging clouds.

@@LionmightOfficial this is kind of half intentional for Helldivers, as most songs are adaptive and can change. For instance, in the extraction theme, right when the drop ship is about to pick you up the "climax" piece of the song plays, maxing out that tension feeling. There are like 5 to 6 of these pieces that vary slightly whether it being more electronic, strings, or brass. The game will then choose one to play at seemingly random and it does this for every part of every song that could theoretically go on forever. So these videos that you react may have more than one of these pieces or go from an ending piece to a beginning piece, hurting the flow of the song. TL:DR Songs have multiple "versions" that are slightly different. The videos you watch might have all of these versions crammed together.
@LionmightOfficial7 ай бұрын
That's just how it is then.

@@LionmightOfficial no there's an intact piece out there of the Automaton theme that somehow includes a Soviet style choir pulled from the game files.
