Ken Tamplin yt does a beautiful breakdown of that question. A few other vocal coaches seem to agree, Tenors have less range, Baritones, if their long vocal chords are well trained, have more potential for range and colour than tenors. I think Ken is right, Dimash is naturally a high baritone, that got developed slowly, because so much training initially went to higher octaves.

@@tallard666 Dimash is very obviously a tenor, that's the range he obviously sings in the most, even if to disregard himself and his teacher saying so. The fact that baritones more often have a wider range doesn't mean that tenors never do. Natural baritones sound completely differently.

"That guy" is Ilya Pokrovskiy. He is a virtuoso percussionist, songwriter, composer, and showman in his own right. Dimash is able to attract and retain super talented people to help him put on high-quality performances because he values them greatly, both as fellow artists and as friends.

Dimash is an angel who fell into music at the age of 5 and his recognized humility gives him the right to give his Emi 2022 award to his grandmother.....I admire this humble boy I am in Vancouver Canada.......I am French (France) I saw Dimash for the first time in 2017 and I cried my eyes out…….the lyrics are beautiful and intense…… Dimash’s version is sublime……thank Andrea and Silvestro... to share this with your friends and family....... He was a competitor in the talent shows……in China 2017 and I don’t know about the others after him…..but they all disappeared…!!!!!….hahaha….!!!!!. final second…… I watched over 50 reactions.…singer……vocal coach…..and other musicians… the men and women mostly have goosebumps……and open mouths…..some are ready to cry….. at the highest note…..the whistle…..one fell from his chair, another had pencils in his hand and suddenly threw them behind him over his shoulder…they all said that Dimash is an alien…..and one left for 5 seconds and came back with a deep breath……and the other said “I quit”…!!!!!…. My favorite version is the same song with the SOS special effects…it was during the 2021 confinement…..he ends the song on his knees…!!!!!… He wears a dark red suit…..I like the lighting…….the drummer….the wings of a bird……everything is perfect….. Between the musicians, the choirs, the special effects in the back……it’s phenomenal for an exceptional singer…!!!!…on the musical arrangements, he has two younger brothers, Raushan and Abilmansur, who are also musicians, composer, guitarist, pianist and drummer. STORY: This song (SOS Terrien en distress) is part of Starmania, it's a rock opera, music by Michel Berger (France), lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Quebec, Canada).......two of the best.. .. ... The show was presented for the first time on April 10, 1979 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. Michel composed especially for the first performer Daniel Balavoine for his special range. Sadly, Daniel died at the age of 33 in 1986 in a helicopter accident during a humanitarian mission in Mali. The second, magnificently interpreted by Grégory Lemarchal, in 2004, he became known to the general public by winning the fourth season of the show Star Academy. Sadly, he died of cystic fibrosis at the age of 23 in 2007. Dimash took over, it was “him” who chose it, when he saw Grégory perform it, respect to Dimash for having preserved the linguistic origin of this work. Dimash performs this song phonetically……. In May 2018, Dimash performed at the 71st Cannes Film Festival (France). In July, he appeared at Slavic Bazaar 2018 in Vitebsk, Belarus, as a judge and guest artist, and sang "SOS from an Earthling in Distress". You know the rest…. !!!!!.

I have noticed when producers are listening to artists they are more often than not listening to the instrumentals and the production part of the piece rather than the artist. But that is what they do, so I understand why they don't comment much on Dimash. Too bad but their ears pick up different things that I as a listener don't even hear.

Dimash enrolled in music college at 5 yrs old. His vocal cords have received intense training for 20 yrs. He holds master's degrees in many different types of music. He is considered to be the best vocalist in the world and a master performer. He sings in 12 languages and plays many instruments. He is an exceptional singer and excels in martial arts. His mother is a world-class opera singer, and his father is also a well-known singer. He was raised by his grandparents, which is customary in his home country of Kazakhstan. He appears in front of crowds of hundreds of thousands of people and is known to give the proceeds to charity. He is a very humble and shy man. He stands at 6 ft. 3 1/2" tall and weighs 200 pounds. He was 26 yrs old at the time of this performance. His first album went platinum in 47 seconds.

👉This is the song of the songs for Dimash and us, his Dears (This is what Dimash calls us fans.) This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight. The best comment from a Dear under the video from The Singer 2017: „If you are having a bad day, remember, someone had to sing after him.“ 🤣 In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old) and the first non-Chinese. Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. Despite Dimash's planned brief presence, his name was intended to be symbolic and understandable to the public. Dimash was given the Chinese name Dimashi and the 3 syllables were assigned Chinese hydroglyphs: ⭐Di - achievement ⭐Ma - precious stone ⭐Shi - dream, wish. This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to KZbin ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won). The Dubai concert, at 1 h 15 minutes, was much too short, and very little musicianship was on display. Barclay NY Concert is up to now my favourite concert for the Full Package, of songing, dancers, so many musicians, huge number of songs. It was a spectacular show, like some of his Kazakhstan shows, that go on forever.

But in two weeks, he will perform in Düsseldorf, Germany. Yesterday, at the Emigala, Dimash was awarded a fashion award. He received, thanked them, then mentioned that his grandmother raised and supported him in his childhood, so he called his grandmother to the stage and handed her the trophy, saying she is the one who deserves it… I mean, who else???? 🥲💕🌷

The premiere of the online concert (without spectators in the hall) "DIMASH DIGITAL SHOW" took place on January 16, 2020 on the American streaming platform TIXR during the pandemic, when live concerts were banned. In a new format for him, Dimash sang in 6 languages: Kazakh, Italian, French , Chinese, English and Russian. According to TIXR, this is the first time ticket sales for a concert by a foreign artist have reached such a high level.

Some more droplets about Dimash... At the time of this contest (2017) he hardly spoke English. With SOS performance he got huge numbers of fans in China and his career skyrocketed. He stayed mostly in China, for almost three years. Now he is learning English (and Mandarin if he did’t gave up on that) but he was really busy with music and concerts and post graduate studying. Year 2019 he started collaboration with Igor Krutoy and his fame begin to rose in Russia. This year was particularly wild... my impression was he slept mostly on planes. Of course he had fan base all around the world, but the strongest fan base was still in China. Then coronavirus slowed him down a bit. He had to stop the touring and postpone the concerts in Minsk, Düsseldorf and Prague for two years. Now concert in Dubai was yesterday and Düsseldorf and Prague are planed for this April … but war in Ukraine can change that too. In February(?) 2021 they did this Digital concert and later they published separate songs from this concert on YT. On last (Arnau ) tour this was his team same as on this Digital concert. (From Dubai I saw just few fan cams that is focused strictly on Dimash, so no idea if he managed to gather whole old band).

I have to say, for Dimash, a live performance is ALWAYS better than a recording. Many of us would rather see his face all the time because he is so into the song when he sings. His emotions can seriously be heard live because the recording is perfect but lacks that deep feeling.

After watching FanCam of Dubai show, this Ogni Pietra sounded identical to previous recordings, I was hoping for some variation. I think fans really do want to hear his pure voice, not so much the produced voice. He seems a little rusty in Dubai, and the regular musicians are there, but there's less focus on their musicianship than previous shows. Also Dubai was only a 1 hour 15 minute show, whereas his Barclay NY show and other previous ones were 3-4 hours, so there was a lot more time to have fun with the music and dancers. The crowd at this Dubai show didn't seem to know many lyrics to sing along as in his previous shows either. I look forward to a FanCam of next shows! (from stuck in Canada!)

@@tallard666 I don't know what you were watching but the live streaming started around 11am and lasted til 230pm! That's 3 1/2 hrs! It's his first concert back since March 2020, and during an ongoing war around countries that are both close to Kazakhstan. He's not going to be jumping for joy the whole time. I thought his emotions were spot on and so was the production. Btw, the title of the song is not Ogni Pietra, the song is titled Olimpico. He sang it in an Operatic style, you can't really deviate from that much. It was perfect.

its also nice to have a reactors like a Producer react to Dimash. as they have insights of what would sell or not. Admittedly, DImash is one of those artist who needs a tailored suit. just like what Brian commented about the microphone. The reason he has Igor Krutoy as his main music director who does most of his music tailored according to Dimash's ability. Dimash has always said that he let out his emotion through his singing thus coloring it with different Highs and lows of his voice. and not all do appreciate it and sometimes find it too much when he sings popular ones. But there are other songs if its well orchestrated both his abilities and arrangements really so stunning!
