Martina is very civic minded & has many songs about powerful topics, many uplifting women by showing their strength's. A spunkier 'girl power,' but not heavy subject, check out 'This one's for the girls'. Positive message, not depressing like the realities shown in 'Concrete angel', 'A broken wing' & 'Independence Day LOL She also has some happy fun songs like 'My Baby loves me' & '. When God fearing women get the blues' (very cute video to that one). And Martina grew up happy in a small town in Kansas & the subject was not talked about, like in the lyrics 'Everybody looked the other way' when she released 'Independence Day'. Many radio stations wouldn't even play that one. She said after releasing it, she received thousands of letters from women thanking her for the song & telling her how it was their story & that it gave them the courage to leave. Then she did 'Concrete angel' & she was approached by a guy with an idea & they began a charity called 'Team music is love' & she lets her songs be used by other charities that do the work the song's subject encompasses. It's her way to make a living and still give back & help people at the same time. You need to check out her lighter side.

I'm 38 and I have lost my mum 4 years ago to cancer and 3 years ago I lost my older sister to a different type of cancer and I lost a real good friend to cancer aswell. Im only 27 and have lost my dad to cancer (I had just turned 21 when he passed) also seen a family friend loose her life to cancer. My mom has had skin cancer 3 times and had to have it cut off each time. Such a powerful song! Great reaction!

Your comments on this are exactly ‘why’ Martina sings about the topics she does. She wants to bring awareness to certain subjects because she is very compassionate in her music and she uses her voice as a vessel of passage to people in a way like no one else can. She is great ❤

My wife was diagnosed at 31, if her Dr. would have stuck with what her “rules” were under Obamacare I would have lost her years ago she just turned 50

I just lost my best friend to breast cancer. I have lost almost all of my family to it also.
