As a current breast cancer patient, I can tell you that the #1 thing we need is support. Too many spouses leave because they can't handle the burden. I'm grateful to have a wide circle of people who love me.

@@susanbrown303 thank you. I am now cancer free and it's because they caught it early. These lyrics : "She made it through the surgery fine They said they caught it just in time But they had to take more than they planned Now it's forced smiles and baggy shirts To hide what the cancer took from her" ring so true for me but I am very thankful and very blessed. ❤

They showed these ladies like Cheryl Crow, and other famous ladies here who have gone through it. Unfortunately many did make it of course. Cancer took so many in my family. Such a horrible disease. My poor mother was bedridden for months before it finally took her. It is such a rough thing to watch someone like that just wither before your very eyes and not a damn thing you can do to stop it other than to be there and try not to let them see you cry because you know they are already having enough of a rough time.

Thank you for this. I think I also requested it for breast cancer awareness. I was given that diagnosis 10 years ago! My family and friends fought beside me, sometimes fighting harder than I could, for 6 long years! There's nothing that I can do to ever re-pay them for what they did for me! I've been cancer free for 4 years now!

I was diagnosed in 2018. Had to have surgery, 30 rounds of radiation and I still take hormonal treatments. So far so good. My mother and sister both were diagnosed with breast cancer. My mother and sister both survived. But my mom succumbed to Alzheimer's much later. I did lose my aunt from breast cancer so my family has loved each other through it. Beautiful song and Martina is an angel in voice and heart.

Five years ago, my stepdaughter was diagnosed with stage 4, terminal metastatic breast cancer. They gave her 2-5 years. Earlier this year my kids ( her half siblings) and I went to see her. I honestly thought it might be the last time. But God has been listening to our prayers! Her oncologist started her on a new chemo pill, and told her instead of only having months to live, she now has several more years!!

Both of my grandmothers had breast cancer which puts me in the high risk levels. I do my exams and testing like clockwork. I am also high risk for Alzheimer's because my dad and his brother passed from that. I'm a 62 woman who found my angel 6 years ago. After dating for a year, I thought it time to tell him my health issues and all he had to say was.... "You are stuck with me" ... L can hear him saying to me what was said in song ....

This song tore me up. I have stage 4 cancer and my husband and son act like I’m just being dramatic. They never ask what my dr’s say. So they are unaware that my cancer has spread to multiple organs. I feel so lonely. My support really comes from my KZbin community. Ty for also stating men can get breast cancer. So many are unaware.

My dad had terminal cancer, it was very rare and untreatable. He passed at just 59. Cancer sucks, it’s not fair that my mom lost her soulmate whom she had been married to for 35 years, or me and my brother, in our mid 20’s, and mostly to my dad, who had been very healthy and then didn’t get to see 60. We were with him the whole time, even when he stopped being able to talk or know who we were. 😢

My wife has gone through two surgeries so far this year to remove cancer. The second time was a very scary one as it was a very evasive strain of it. They removed every thing in her female area and they told her they wouldn't be able to remove it if it came back because there is nothing left to remove now. Only choice then would be chemo and prayers. Very scary business. We already were giving the prayers.

I was just diagnosed with Melanoma on Monday. I'm 35 and have a 13 year old son. After my doctor removed the lesion to send to Pathology, he told me straight up that he thinks it is Melanoma. I know that is the worst and most aggressive Skin Cancer, so I got into my car afterwards and cried. Not for me... for my boy. I prayed and begged that if this is in fact Melanoma, that it hasn't spread and at the very least, asked to be allowed as much time as possible, to be there for my son as long as I can. My biopsy results came back on Monday and I do in fact, have Melanoma. However, mine is Superficial Spreading Melanoma in situ. So, Stage 0 Melanoma! My doctors are very optimistic and so am I! It feels strange to say I'm grateful to have the best outcome of the worst type of skin cancer. But, I am. So, so, SO grateful that I noticed something different on my left clavicle. (Collarbone.) Showed it to my primary care doctor and she referred me to Dermatology to have them look at it. At the time, it just looked like a new birthmark, which I know doesn't make sense. Lol I am SUPER pale and freckly, so I've always been taught to watch my skin and if anything is different or has changed, it's better to get it checked out. So, that's what I did. Mine hasn't spread and I can't tell you how relieved I was to learn that. Keep fighting, warriors! 💛

As a breast cancer survivor, this song makes me cry with gratitude every time I hear it. I wouldn't have made it without my people, "loving me through it." I pay it forward and love the next one in line through it, as we all should do. I was given the gift of extra years to do God's work until it's time to go home. My shoulder and ears are always open for whoever needs them, whether I know you or not. ❤ And I would be remiss if I didn't mention my husband, who stopped me from quitting halfway through chemo when I was so sick and weak I just didn't think I could do it anymore. Turns out I could ... with all of my people holding me up in love, faith and anything I needed. You can do anything with the right people in your corner and the power of prayer. ❤❤❤
