Everyone has their day. Roger Miller was a highly talented and creative individual with a great sense of humor that came across in a lot of his songs. I look at the so called talent of today and it doesn't hold a candle to the talent of this era.
@horseman5283 жыл бұрын
@@quantumbuddhist Not saying there isn't some talented people but the music they listen to today is not worth a shit compared to the 60's through the 80's. especially that hip hop crap but that's my opinion and I'm certainly entitled to it just as you are. I guess I should said they are talented but their creativity is lacking; especially in song writing and the actual music and notation. I think Alan Jackson is the exception. He still makes great music.
@horseman5283 жыл бұрын
@@quantumbuddhist Will do. Thanks. It may be that there are some I just haven't heard yet that will change my mind. I'm open if it sounds good.

Talk about a talented singer/songwriter and one who left us WAY TOO SOON is ROGER MILLER! I never get tired of watching his performances as he was always one to make you smile with his songs! His wife sang in the Kenny Rogers and the first Edition band too if I remember correctly.

I believe that was Thelma Camacho who sang with Kenny Rogers and the First Edition, at least in the beginning, she may have been a replacement singer for Thelma later in the bands career.

The temptations, Joe Tex, Wilson Pickett, Marvin gaye, James brown, Jackie Wilson, Otis redding, the tams, and a long list of other soul singers. Roger miller was a great singer and song writer. I bought many of his records.

Man,Wow,I have to say,can't say that I know a place to go to see really honest talent like this. Now I'm only saying this because it's true.The crap they play on the radio sucks! That's my opinion,I really don't ever wake up and turn on my radio like I did in 1969..in fact I don't do a lot of the things I did in 1969! Well I'm just saying that cause somebody has to let people know that the music of today sucks..The industry is in control..like a machine..its man against machines. Think about the really good music that you don't hear on the radio and ask yourself why. Then ask the question in public and see what you hear..probably the same shit you hear on the radio.
@wkanost4 жыл бұрын
Nolan Pierce - I agree. The singers today are commodities. Back then they were personalities. Fans knew what they were like and could relate to them on a personal level and that was true across the musical spectrum. I have no idea what a singer I’m watching today is like as a person because they don’t let that come through anymore. The business has become to much of a prepackaged, homogenized business.

I'm 70 yrs old with 30 yrs active-duty in the Army Special Forces retired, and I loved the old days & now (for 30 yrs) been prepping to defend my Republic & good old days.
