Man they are SO under appreciated because of the stigma of "sounding like Led Zeppelin", but I think people's opinions are changing. And their last album sounds way different as well, they are really finding their own sound

I'm a big fan of GVF and I completely agree. Some people will never look past the comparison to Led Zep and give them a fair chance, but that's their loss. That being said, it is unfortunate that opening riff in this song happens to sound pretty similar to the one on Led Zep's 'Black Dog' lol

@@rossyoung8892 Also huge GVF huge fan and Led Zeppelin fan too .....but we all know that dear ol' Led Zeppelin ripped a lot...... in this case they 'drew inspiration" for Black Dog from the Fleetwood Mac song , 'Oh Well' hehhe

To be fair, lets not pretend that it's some accident. Nobody of GVF's talent and label makes Led Zepp music and doesn't realize it. That said, it's original music put to a great sound, so fuck it. Great band.

They are very under appreciated and hope they continue with the backing of their label through out. They are getting new fans daily. Heat Above really got them a new segment of fans. It is funny that people that complain about them sounding like Zep pick out their 3-4 most sounding zep songs without going over their whole discography.

They're the first new band I've liked in 20 years, and they're my favorite. Bands like them just don't come along that often. I'd suggest Heat Above, Lover Leaver Taker Believer, Edge Of Darkness, all the songs in the Candlelight Sessions series, and if you like epic guitar solos, try The Weight Of Dreams. Happy listening!

I'm convinced Josh came out of the womb wailing. He's got one helluva set of lungs on him for such a little guy (5'5"). This band gives me the frigging chills every time I hear them. People can say what they want about the music of today ...... Yawn !!!! I was raised during the time when musicians composed & put thought into the music they played. Beatles , Stones , Zeppelin , Aerosmith, Styx , Yes etc. Black artist who played the blues , definitely influenced rock in the late 50's through the 70's. Rock music has NEVER been matched since.... FINALLY A BAND THAT GETS IT !!!! The music industry , became an industry , pushing out a product only to make money. I have all of GVF'S music. Their my go to band today.

You said it best about not caring about the comparison to Led Zeppelin. I believe their influence towards sounding like Led Zeppelin is purely due to their musicianship rather than by their intention to replicate Zeppelin’s style. It’s an indication to the rarity of this quality of rock music both of the bands have produced.
@Joelyne37
@Joelyne37 2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree! I DONT CARE that they sound like Zeppelin! If a new band is gonna sound like anyone, they could do a lot worse than Zeppelin! It bugs me so much when people write them off because of the Zeppelin thing, because how can u be a rock fan or a music fan in general and write off genuinely well written and performed rock music just because it sounds a bit like one of the greatest rock bands of all time. And it also annoys me so much when people are like "if i wanted to listen to Led zeppelin, I'd just listen to actual Led Zeppelin" BUT ZEPPELIN DIDN'T WRITE THIS MUSIC! Its not like GFV are playing Zeppelin songs, they're playing their own, Zeppelin never wrote or performed these songs so why wouldn't u want to just listen to good music coming from artists today! Like ok, go listen to zeppelin but u wont get to hear these songs and that's a damn shame cuz they're pretty damn good. And this is coming from someone who isn't even the biggest GVF fan
