8:44 - Judging by what you described, the "rumour" you heard wasn't about this video, it was about the song Retrospection. That's the song where Tatiana talks about their roots and not only the video is filled with old photos of them, mixed with behind the scenes' footage of their tours, but it's also partly sung in Russian, their native language. : )

Great reaction yet again. Couple things: they are from the nation of Ukraine (the particular region of Ukraine the are from is largely comprised of the Russian language), That is Tatiana you see in the video and you're right she always has a different look but everyone of them is spectacular and she's just naturally stunning and gorgeous (and she does all of her own makeup and makes a lot of her own costumes as well) Now that you've heard the studio version, please PLEASE check out this song Live at Wacken 2019. Also, Retrospection is a must by them. Tatiana actually starts the song singing in Russian and it's hauntingly beautiful

Thanks, almost no one reacts to the official Perennial video now since the live at Wacken performance, which is great. However, this is a great spectacle on it's own as well. Nice to see a pro dissect this.

So, something that is utterly amazing with their songs. Eugene, Roman and Vlad compose the instrumental portion of the song. Then they give a demo to Tatiana to mull over and write the lyrics. This is done with every song. What's amazing is a lot of the time, Tatiana claims even herself she walks into the recording sessions unprepared and adlibs the initial words. That alone makes this kind of amazing.

Great reaction. They are from Eastern Ukraine, so Russian is their native tongue. And yes that is Tatiana in the video. Much like Jinjers' music where none of their songs sound the same, Tati looks different in every video they do.

So interesting that you mention Korn. Vlad the drummer said in a radio interview that Korn was one of his favorite bands and his biggest inspiration as a drummer. Also, the song that you mentioned about not being able to see their parents in occupied Ukraine, That song is called Retrospection. Such an awesome video to that song as well, you will really enjoy it! Yes, Tatiana looks completely different in almost every video lol.

Yes that is Tatiana in the video, both in the dark and in the snow. Jinjer is from Ukraine and speak Russian. The live version from Wacken is amazing.

Great reaction. The song is largely about Tatiana's depression and being able to kind of be reborn like nature in spring. They always have great imagery and depth of meaning in their lyrics. One of my favorites is Pit of Consciousness. I would have lyrics handy to get the whole picture. The song is incredible as well. Love the analysis as always. Thanks

Great reaction. Just check out the live version in Wacken for yourself. Wacken always has great sound quality. And you hear they pull it off live in an absolute great way. Super-tight, everything on point. The drummer is a beast. I think he plays with a click, which is not a bad thing in my opinion, as they don't lose the feeling.

Tatiana's looks have changed alot, and as a new fan its interesting how much she changes between all the different videos. It took me awhile to realize how far apart all the various videos are.

They are from eastern Ukraine, so their native language is Russian and they had to flee when Russia annexed that part of the country. Since then they were basically constantly on tour, until Corona hit. They have some interviews where they talk about that, and I think it is funny how anxious and shy Tati is in those and other human interactions, which is a stark contrast to her brilliant "stage" presence (I think it shows in their official videos too, even in Pisces, often very subtle but she is very expressive). And yes, that dancer is Tati with light / natural makeup. Seeing her dance in the snow alone makes the video worth watching, but you should definitely check out this song live at Wacken. Other good official video + live combinations are: One the Top (live in Kiev), Pit of Consciousness (also Live in Kiev) and Judgement & Punishment (live in Melbourne). Other great official video songs: Teacher Teacher (if you like good video production then you love this too), I Speak Astronomy (a love song), Retrospection (great band story video), Sit Stay Roll Over (one of their harder songs), Cloud Factory (like the album of the same name about environmental issues, same album as Who is Gonna be the One).

I have also been a musician for around 40 years, and I am interested in various musical genres, but what can I say, if you deal more with Jinjer, you will register even more how extraordinarily good the whole band is, including the lyrics by Tatiana , also compared to other bands, such as Nightwish ..... I don't really know why most people think that Tatiana is the only one writing lyrics, Eugene is just as active on that front. Dmitry also wrote some when he was in the band. Dunno if Vlad and Roman contribute on that front though, if anybody knows please let me know.

from their last album, lainnereP is a really interesting experience to listen to. it's almost a ghostly reference to perennial (it's just spelled backwards). worth checking out in your free time, not necessarily a reaction-worthy track though as there isn't a ton going on. more atmospheric.

Yes those 'rumours' are true, although they are pretty open about it, however that is not this song, that is what their song Retrospection is about. This song is about Tatiana's seasonal depression where she uses the life and death cycle of nature, particularly that of a perennial plant as a metaphor to describe the way her depression makes her feel. These are among the best lyrics ever written imo.

Great reaction. Love your input on the more technic side of the music and video. The live version of this song at Wacken festival is also a fan-favorite and a really amazing performance by the band. You really gotta react to "Teacher, Teacher" official, it´s one of their best works! "Judgement & Punishment" is also a hell of a track with a great twist and for a live one "Who´s Gonna Be The One" live is just mind-blowing in terms of sound, instrumental mastery and performance. And yeah, Tatiana´s look is already a meme like: "OMG she looks diferent in every video" :) Keep up the Jinjer train!

Yeah that's Tati with her tats covered up and no stage makeup - shortly after this she got her throat tattoo and I kant help jokingly think she was making sure that wouldn't happen again haha. Seriously, the tat is the face of Quetzalcoatl, the Mesoamerican dragon-god of wind and learning, which she got in Mexico the first time she performed there, and having that tattooed across her throat seems incredibly fitting! Definitely compare this to the live at Wacken version. Channels I've seen do both have got about double the views for the live version, even doing it second. Pit Of Consciousness is another with great studio and live videos, though the live in Kiev is version is by far the more epic of the two IMO.
