I saw this and read a bunch of comments on the original drop. One woman said that watching Mitch singing this helped her decide not to commit suicide. What she was saying was heart breaking, but how others reached out to her was also very joyous. That Mitch was, in a way, a life saver, and that complete strangers were reaching out to help, was life affirming. Music is one of those things that is transcendual and magical.

Lol did you see the thing where Scott was asked about the neighbour who recorded & uploaded him singing from her balcony or window (you can't see him, but you definitely hear him)? He'd apparently been belting out the same line over and over to get it right and/or commit it to memory. He said something like he was grateful she chose a version where he sounded good. I cannot imagine what it might be like being their neighbour, I imagine both amazing and frustrating in equal measures at times.

Mitch sings from a deep place in his soul with listeners drawn in close and captivated by every line. This cover has a beautiful melody with meaningful lyrics which suit him so well. When a person exerts power over another in a relationship, it can quite literally squeeze the life out of them! Billie calls out the excuses too. Profound issue confrontation with the lightest vocals. In his description box (which Mitch wrote) it says he & his friend Austin did it all. Talent.

I watched another person's video reaction for the song The Prayer, and in the comments a music instructor from a prestigious music school, directed the researcher to go to a specific time in the video and he points out that Scott is holding a note and he is actually a little flat of the note. When Mitch comes in, he comes in exactly on the note. He said it is very hard to do when someone else is a little off. Your natural tendency is to come in where they are but Mitch just nailed it right on the note. He has the most beautiful tone to his voice and something inside me is touched every time I hear him sing. Doesn't matter what. I feel so blessed to be living to hear him perform.

Mitch has done some livestreams fairly recently where he talked about expanding his knowledge during the pandemic. He said he felt like a lot of it is stuff he should have paid attention to before, but better late than never. Having to set up the videos and track recording for PTX for himself - all the other members have significant others they are locked down with that lend a hand - really jumpstarted it for him. But, yeah, now he's experimenting with doing the mixing and whatnot himself... and this is our result.

Great reaction, as always. It was moving to see you get lost in the emotion of the song. Pentatonix as a whole has always had that ability to draw us in, lift us up, shake us to the core, and then release us, changed in some inexplicable way. So cool to see Mitch do it solo... and to catch you, the technical analyst, in his net. Thanks for this.

Hey DJ, another solid reaction. Sometimes we just have to be reflective. It's so easy to jump into teacher mode. It was a haunting song that I think makes us all want to take a moment. I myself don't have the kind of regard that he or Pentatonix or Billie has for that matter, but it shows how sometimes our talents propel us into places and whether intentional or not, we are different. I can appreciate your perspective musically, but I appreciate more so your willingness to just listen introspectively. Only makes me respect you more DJ. Be well my friend.

Interesting..... while I would also be hesitant to think so, this pandemic has really change the way that artists make their content and art. I would cry a river of tears, but he deserves to do what makes him happy in life. I have no doubt that he would be successful. Ptx would go foreward, I think, & even find a new member. But Mitch can't be replaced! I am sure they would choose someone insanely talented though, who could successfully sing the parts that Mitch sang. I just know I would NOT want to be the new guy trying to fill those shoes!! You also have to consider the idea that they are all talented enough to go into solo careers, so if he left they may decide it is time to do that. God forbid. I am now gonna have anxiety about this! Thanks for this reaction 🙂👍 You reacted a lot to Nightwish, but only to one song of Epica. May I suggest you some songs to react someday ? I know its not related, but I'm new and I know you like Alex terrible. You should react to his cover of Giving up by linkin Park. Guarantee that you like it. Hope to see you do it

Sorry, but I found this boring and slow. Also, his ill fitting coat was a distraction that didn't help.

Ill fitting clothing for mitch is very on brand What I found to be funny was during Superfruit with just him and Scott, it always looked like they'd switched clothes. Mitch's too big, Scott's too small.

I forgive you for your lack of taste. You must have ADD if you let his clothing distract you from his stunning performance!

@@christinamorris1594 I am a musician (of sorts - piano, cello, guitar) and I've always been into music. Mitch has a great voice and I realise his loose fitting clothes is a part of his stage presence, but in this case a long drooping ill fitting leather coat sort of visually distracts me from the song. Now come on, the song is slow and there is no or little room for expression in the melody, if you can call it that. I played it through and I couldn't tell you what the damn thing was about until I'd played it a couple more times. No, still boring. Perhaps I really do have bad taste.

@@duncanmckinnonYou can always close your eyes and let the music “speak” to you. Kind of nitpicking when a “musician “ gets distracted by clothing.
