Ryan... thank you for an excellent demonstration of WAITING for a response. (@ 2:35) I love that you gave this young man 30+ seconds to process and respond without re-prompting! These clips are great teaching tools for parents, therapists, teachers, students... Keep up the great work!

Ryan, your work has been inspiring my college students for the past couple of years. They are studying to be teachers of all sorts of populations...and we have have been exploring how to use music as a teaching tool. We love watching you and your students / clients!

I LOVE this video! It helped so much for you to explain the need to give students processing time that's unique to them and to see how long you allowed the student to respond to the prompt for "under". What a GREAT teaching tool for special education teachers, para educators and others who work with special needs students. Parents and others can benefit from this, too. I will share your site with the Special Education teachers I work with and know as well as on my own social media pages. Thank you, again, for spreading the message about how to help persons with special needs learn to express themselves!

I am a Music Therapist from India. I pretty much use the same techniques only Indian languages or the tune to either Indian songs or nursery rhymes depending on what my client loves.

I am learning a lot from your video. Iam from India. I've also a child with special needs. He's suffering from ADHD problem and speech prblm. Now he's 9 years old. But he's a big lover of music. The problem is that, he's not trying to pronounce any word. So to solve that what I have to do Sir?
@RyanJuddMusic3 ай бұрын
I would first have him evaluated by a speech therapist. I would also start to focus on alternative ways of communicating such as sign language or using an Alternative and Augmentative Communication Device. Not only can this non-verbal way of communicating be so empowering for a child, but it can also help inspire them to speak if they are able. I hope that helps!!!
