I’m a music therapist and have been since 1996. I like how your client has learned the basics to the songs. I have a difficult time with that because my clients don’t have the desire to learn the words. They’d rather me do it all for them.

Hi Ryan! I am a first year elementary music teacher and I am teaching two self contained classes full of students who have autism. I was not trained in music therapy, so your videos have been helping me a ton! I was wondering if you have ever sang the "it's gonna be ok" song in a major key, and if so, could you share the chords with me? I have a student who doesn't respond well to songs in minor keys, but I think this song would be great for him!
@RyanJuddMusic2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Anna, I have not used a major key, but for this song, I capo at the third and play Dmin7 C G I hope that helps!

@RyanJuddMusic6 ай бұрын
Hey Lisa, I don't have a published album of songs like this, but if your school wants to contract with me, I could spend a couple of hours recording one or two of these. You can email me at Ryan@TheRhythmTree.com if this sounds good.

Hi! In your MTE CMTE for guitar now. Some cool new chords there. Anyways my real question - how have you tuned your lap harp? Love the sound and I have two - one in diatonic major and the other I've tuned to harmonic minor. I have the sheets that fit in too so I've thought about doing an intervention showing how negative thoughts can change your perspective just as a minor scale changes the feel of a classic song. But I've been doing a lot of PMR and guided relaxation stuff lately, I think this tuning could be very beneficial to clients. Thanks for your work!
@RyanJuddMusic4 жыл бұрын
Hey Mallory, thanks for watching and commenting!!! It's funny, but I just tune the harp to C, not being particular about what note any string is. Lap harps are awesome but can be CRAZY to tune!!! 😀

I've recently been diagnosed with high functioning autism at the age of twenty five and I've been noticing that I've been getting triggered and upset a lot at work. What can I do to make work better for me and to get upset less often?

That's a big question and can't be answered so simply I'm afraid. Please reach out for support in your area. I hope you can find a local therapist who can help you figure this out! Best of luck to you!!!

I really like the classical rock (I'm guessing it is) inspiration in a few songs you've created for the people you are helping. I'm wondering if you could answer this: Is there a specific chord progression that seems to work for calming most people?
@RyanJuddMusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Alexandria! It's more about the tempo than the chords. 60 to 90 beats per minute, like the resting heart rate. I hope that helps!
