Petula was the "First Lady of the British Invasion". Very British record. I love seeing how everybody is dressed nice. My father would never permit us kids to go downtown in our play clothes. We always had to dress. Bygone times for sure.

Yes those were the days the clubs or to full.. But now for example out here in Bay Ridge Brooklyn and elsewhere are still ghost towns after 1 am. The only fine about two dozen people in a venue. It's never crowded like it used to be in these places people afraid to get close to each sort of.. Bay Ridge was really happening a few years ago. People will come all the way from Jersey. No more all we got a lot of his dirty streets with less people out I don't get it

Just look at how everyone is dressed up and civilized acting - no homeless people, no strange behavior, no trash sitting on the sidewalks or street just people who know how to behave in public. London does not have a downtown and nor do any other British towns or cities. British cities do have town centres or city centres. "Downtown" is an an American designation. "Downtown" for Londoners is meaningless. Central London is the innermost part of London spanning several boroughs. It is just that, it’s never ‘downtown. There are two unique Londons. You have London and then you have the City of London, which is a seperate entity. London ìs not built on a grid system like American cities and so Uptown and Downtown doesn't rèally apply to London.
