Okay but like one more thing about Payphone: Adam’s verses are about how he regrets how he treated someone and he needed to call them to tell them he’s sorry. wiz khalifa’s verse is about how people from his past who did him wrong are always trying to call him up and apologize because they just want a piece of his fame. Guys, they’re talking to each other. Like for real.

Long-ago, women (some, not all) used the tactic of rejecting a guy, to see if he'll give up so easily, as what can be described as half shit test and half an assessment on her part to see how much he is really interested in her. Now though, we live in an age where social standards have made it harassment if a man looks a woman for more 3 seconds. Then again, the alternative is you literally driving away from a guy who grabbed your ass and him clinging to the side of the vehicle.

I have a theory in regards to the music video where both of the main characters are played by the same singer. Haven't watched the original piece itself but based on what I can gather from your video, here's what I believe: The two men represent different phases of the man's life. The "bad neighbor" who hangs out with a group is a simply younger version of the singer, while the "good neighbor" who lives with his wife is an older form of the guy. The two are at odds since the older version dislikes looking back at his past self (perhaps caused by stupid mistakes he has made), while his past self sees his future self as a lame old man (nobody wants to see themselves get boring as they become old). This actually does tie into what the song is about because in the video, the future version of the performer states "When you see my face / hope it gives you hell" which, again, is most likely due to the fact that the past version of the man would not like to see himself grow out of the phase which he is in. I could go a lot more in depth but it's a KZbin comment. Hope you understand what the hell I am on about, Quinton.

I think the Gives You Hell MV is about a guy growing up and trying to be two things at once: his college age grunge self, and his future suburban family man life. This causes a disconnect between him and his girlfriend/future wife (which coincides with the song) which ultimately tears their relationship apart. He wants to have fun and be grungy, but also be the family man for his girlfriend. He's angry at her until they come to the conclusion that they need to meet in the middle and/or open up the relationship (hence the wife swap scene). Both women are supposed to be different facets of the same girl.

Michael Jackson had a vision when he started a project, everything was calculated to precision. He didn't need to 'look cool' he simply was. Smooth Criminal for example, there's a moment in the extended version where him and the dancers just 'feel the music' before it goes to the dance break. It has meaning, passion, soul. They were short films. These artists just want to look cool and get a reaction. Michael didn't need to, he knew that the reaction was inevitable, he just needed to tell the best story possible. And he always did. And that's why no one will ever compare.

Y'all remember "Save Rock and Roll" by Fall Out Boy? It's an entire album where there's a music video for every single song, and they all link together to tell one cohesive story. The band members get kidnapped, tortured, brainwashed, killed, you name it, all by this group that hates music or something? And they're all racing to protect this briefcase, which in the end, you never really figure out what's in it, but it's supposed to be viewer interpretation. I'd recommend watching David Bowie's "Jazzin for Blue Jean" from 1984 the full thing is an amazing tale about two characters (both played by Bowie) the entire thing is 20 minutes long and even gets a meta ending Summary Bowie number 1 wants to date a girl who likes bowie number 2. Bowie number1 then pretends to know bowie number 2 to impress her Eventually Bowie number 1 buys a ticket for one of bowie number 2's concerts and gives it to her bowie1 then breaks into bowie2's dressing room begging him to help him impress his girlfriend Bowie 2 goes out on stage and sings a song Then Bowie 1 and his girlfriend wait until everyone else has left the theatre Bowie 2 approaches bowie1 and his girlfriend He then impresses her and steals her from Bowie1 Then Bowie1 exits the theatre furious and talks to the video's director demanding that the video gets a happy ending and that he should get the girl The video then pans out with Bowie1 and the director arguing

@shawnfields23695 жыл бұрын
Dude/lady, there's NO shame in admitting Thriller scared you. To this day, it scares me. It scared me when I was a little boy. How could it NOT scare you, at least a little? There's no shame in saying something scares you. It's ok, we've all got fears and things that scare us. There's also the "Land Of Confusion" video, which was just weird, but one of my favorite songs. There's the Foo Fighters, who've had pretty much every single one of their videos weird as hell, along with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Gorillaz, with every video they've ever made being weird, but the RHCP and Gorillaz are 2 of my favorite bands, so i don't mind the weirdness. It works, and they always make it work, that's part of how they're 2 of the best bands out there, another part is just the fact that they're awesome and talented.

Artists trying to make their own Thriller is just sad. Nobody can make something on the same level as Thriller. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Like the video to Will Smith's "Wild Wild West" where the song stops not once but twice (the second time for a full minute and a half) for dramatic sequences. The worst offender I ever saw, and I cannot remember artist or title now, was filmed entirely through the windshield of a car and consisted of the three guys in the car arguing up until they accidentally drove into a pond, whilst the song played on the car stereo EDIT: the car vid was "The F Word" by Babybird

I want to point out the weird story of Michael Jackson's You Rock My World. Act 1: Millionaire Michael Jackson is eating at some Chinese place with his friend Chris Tucker. They spot some hot woman walking past, so Chris bets that Michael can't "get" her. Whether this means kidnapping or not is up to you. The two follow her to a local nightclub so that Michael can shoot his shot. Act 2: Michael and Chris arrive at the nightclub, where Chris makes a bunch of references to Michael's previous works. This is clearly not a parallel universe where Michael and Chris aren't famous, so how is it that the two aren't immediately recognised? Nevermind. Michael tries to woo the girl by dancing aggressively at her. Act 3: Michael jumps up on the bar, still dancing. He kicks the glasses into the wall, causing them to smash. The bar owner is told of Michael's behaviour, so he politely asks for him to be removed from the premises. Meanwhile, Mike's still dancing at this girl. That is until he's confronted by the bar security. Despite their best attempts, Michael won't leave. So, seeing no other way to remove this dangerous man, they decide to fight him. By dancing. Act 4: Michael summons his minions, then dances at the security. One taunts him, so he starts dancing even harder. Then he punches someone. In the fight, a fire starts. Mike, Chris and the unnamed woman all escape from the bar. Overall, Michael won the bet. Summary: Michael Jackson harasses an innocent woman and burns down a local business. He is not caught and escapes the scene with a new girlfriend. Good song though. MJInnocent.

“Hurricane” by 30 Seconds to Mars. BDSM randomness, beautiful cinematography, just all around weird video. All of their videos are like this.

Ironically the Internet has revived the Radio Star, Podcasts are basically Radio Shows and even Audio Drama are making a comeback.

If that Maroon 5 video is the worst music video you’ve ever seen, you have not seen Billy Squire’s career-ending video, and I am envious.

You should look at low budget homemade Metal music videos. Nothing is funnier than that

I like that you did a mirror version of the "pretend that I'm gay" joke in the long-ass bee movie review saga.

I never really questioned the music video for “Gives You Hell”. Mostly because 12 year old me was OBSESSED with Tyson Ritter and I got to see DOUBLE.

I recently saw a vid about songs that are about something entirely different to what everyone thinks, some of which are disturbing! Music vids can add an entirely new layer to songs, and thus even more meanings or plots, like the ones here!

I wouldn't mind watching you break down more music videos because honestly there are so many that you would never run out of content lol. I love your take on the absurd.

One of my favorite bad music videos is Madonna's 'Material Girl.' The song states that Madonna is perfectly okay with dating someone who buys her stuff, but the character she plays in the video claims that she isn't the type of girl to be bought off with gifts.

The song is satire. Madonna is pretty woke.

As a kid I watched Rage every morning (kind of the Australian version of MTV) and I was OBSESSED with the video for Paradise by Coldplay, inexplicably focusing on a person in an elephant mascot suit

I want so much to like your content. Your potential is apparent, but so much of it, including this video is just sub par. Having established yourself as a good personality to me, and proving that you can make good videos gives me hope that you'll figure out the formula one day.

Shelter was p fantastic. Also Porter Robinson confirmed to have the most patrician taste by personally requesting Megumi Kouno to do the art direction on that short.
