*+Yoav Ledezma* Okay, I admit I don't know the band Foals, I've only heard of them, so I can't judge them. But Vampire Weekend's music does make me cringe. There's this song, I don't know the name, has a horrible tune. It doesn't even sound like rock! There's probably some stuff that's okay, I guess. But they really bad, at least for me.

Art is not the same as entertainment. It goes far beyond such a description. Our aesthetic sides are a big part of our human identity. Music can be purely entertaining and aiming to please/seduce a crowd, but it can also be therapeutic, healing, transformational, sacred, spiritual - it can induce an experience so abstract and profound that mere words does not know how to describe it. People have always made music and it has never been only for the reason to entertain.

I got so stoned listening to Tame Impala - why won't you make up your mind with him that I actually forgot it after i sobered up... he left for Montreal for work a few months after. It wasn't till I came across Tame Impala in the music store I remembered the time spent together listening to this song.
