i have a few different tubes for this unit. Oddly, I have found the stock power tubes (back ones) are the quietest, with hardly any noise. The front tubes seem to affect noise less...so I have a pair of red RCA metal tubes in the front. Unit is quiet. Power is plenty to drive speakers and headphones. I ONLY notice a sound difference between tubes when using headphones....and generally only notice a difference in background noise level

I tried different sets of tubes and certainly found a pairing I love - but this may be in the ear of the beholder,,, A huge issue for me was finding truly efficient speakers - this made a huge difference for the better!
@intoitreviews6 ай бұрын
Yeah, speaker efficiency helps. I am using with a conservative 94 dB speaker most of the time. I have got it to work with others, but one needs the right set up and to test this thing thoroughly before jumping to any kind of conclusions. Thanks for watching and subscribing

@@intoitreviews I sometimes try the MP preeamp into it, and to my ears this elevates the 301.

I have the musical paradise speakers. I believe they are an excellent product, but I did not feel they were the best match with the small mp tube amp. They are comparatively small and not a very bassy sound irrespective of amplifier. However, they appeared to benefit from a much more powerful amplifier. I read some reviews before I bought them, and reviews are a tricky concept I appreciate, but they appeared to get entirely positive recommendations. I am far, far from expert in the technicalities of hi-fi, but using the musical paradise preamp with the 301 gave me the impression of improvement, whilst the greatest difference appeared to occur after putting the ubiquitous red tubes compined with the mullards into the little amp.

Are you going to review the Skunkie mods carried out to one of your 301’s? My guess is many people would be interested.
@intoitreviews3 ай бұрын
Yeah I will. I owe a number of videos to companies first though, so those are the priority, but I will work it in as soon as possible. To be honest, some of the mods resulted in positive benefit, but Skunkie did not really involve me as much in the process as I would have liked to have been, and was not very cooperative. As a result, the end product kind of suffered in some key areas in my opinion, and I'm not sure I can recommend the mods overall, even if there were some positives here or there. I will touch on this in the video when I can. Make sure you're subscribed with notifications turned on to get alerted, or join my discord if you want to talk before.

Have you done a modified mp 301 video I would like to hear your opinion.
@intoitreviewsАй бұрын
I have not yet. I will definitely do one at some point. I do have a number of videos to get out first though. Feel free to join the discord to discuss specifics in the mealtime. I'm in there quite often. The modifications that were done will result in system specifics benefits or drawbacks unfortunately. It didn't make it a better or worse amp per say, although it does change the amp in some key ways. Some of these changes are postive, some of these changes are negative. I don't know if I would recommend the modifications for everyone, as the benefits are mostly system specific. Thanks for subscribing, and check out the discord!

Enjoyed your review a lot! Hope you can do step by step mod to enhance this lil gem especially on reducing noise and improve headphone amp session. As a beginner without any soldering experience , would be a great way to start the journey thanks

I bought this MP 301 MK. After theI bought this MP 301 MK3. After the very first switch-on, only 1 channel worked and a strong hum was present via head-up. After 15 minutes, heavy smoke came out of the device. Let's see how to get warranty. Quality is something different.

That sucks. Unfortunately, I've had things like that happen at any price. Usually PCB circuits are pretty consistent. Hopefully your replacement goes better. I haven't heard many experiences like yours. Best of luck!

@intoitreviews6 ай бұрын
Yeah Skunkie is entitled to their opinion. I can get pretty good results in a proper setup. Surprisingly good actually as the review indicates. I also spent long days testing over months (the right tubes need to be installed, which vary between setup, and they need proper warmup time). Skunkie spent about 12 hours... But, I do agree that improving the circuit could be helpful potentially. We will see when I get their altered amp back for review and comparison. My system is much more revealing and proper for an amp like this than theirs is. Thanks for subscribing!

@intoitreviews skunk is full of crap she ripped on the A10 which I own. I'm running it on to my stereo receiver and using my sub for the bass. Klipsch 🔊 speakers took a good month to sounds it's best plus newer tube's and worlds best cables. Big full sound over a 100 dB. Kt66 power tube's smooths it out.

@kenaiello4851 yeah, she didn't test the paradise fully in my opinion. Relied on FR measurements and poor system/speaker choices.
