I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. I have been around!
In 2008 I wrote the Vocaltutor Guide, 21 set lessons for singing teachers to get started, learning to teach, and produced 3 vocal exercise CD/Downloads.
I am now working on my first online singing programme. The Foundations of Singing that will be available on Udemy.

I wonder if its a rare thing to have female voices that low, or are women with that voice type sort of directed away from vocal performance. My hope is that Kaedi Dalley (the contralto in the group).. will make more ladies outside (aka below) the soprano range realize that have valuable unique qualities to bring to vocal performance.

I enjoyed listening to your critique, especially your appreciation of the nuances of a capella singing - flattening the vibrato to keep the chords locked, the bass providing the floor so the other notes can sail, etc. The entrance and exits and breath placement also makes the difference in okay vs stellar a capella. If you want to see some masters at this, I think you would enjoy a dip into the barbershop world. I would recommend any of the winners of the BHS or Sweet Adelines competitions over the last few years.

I actually got chills at the beginning. I'd never heard this version before but it really liked how it built slowly. Can we please see some Celine or Whitney performances?
