@Maiden Watkins Michael Jackson was literally her friend. She was absolutely as big as them. She was just more popular in latin America because of her Spanish music. She died in her early 20s and she was this successful. So successful people still speak about her. Now what does that tell you?

Maiden Watkins putting Beyoncé in the same lane as Selena is a compliment to Beyoncé & a disrespect to Selena. Beyoncé is a good entertainer but is no way is she a natural Star like Selena, Freddie, Michael & all those other great artist who were basically in their own lane due to the outstanding way not only they themselves performed but the whole band as a whole, all 100% live & raw talent. I'm also a Brit. Discovered Selena in 2014 by finding the words of Dreaming of You on a picture I found on Google. For months that'd be the only songh of her's I'd listen to because I didn't know any Spanish, and didn't see the point of listening to something I'd not understand. But then I did, and found her spanish music much more upbeat and uplifting. At the time, I was in my final year of school and had a teacher from Jerez De La Frontera en España. Turns out she also liked Selena, and was shocked that I knew about Selena, given my age and heritage, she rightfully guessed I was talking about Selena Gomez, but her eyes light up when I said Selena Perez. She told me Amor Prohibido was a very romantic song, and a few years later, I know she was right as I can finally understand the lyrics. The same year she moved back to Spain, but we were very close and I'm so glad I got that opportunity.

My bros and I back in the day would hang out in the backyard, as we were a bunch of metalheads. A local park venue in one of the poorest neighborhoods in San Antonio, Texas would throw shows on weekends. This was before the city imposed noise ordinances. On any given Saturday night we could hear bands playing. One night we heard Selena playing, at this point she was already huge and doing stadiums shows. We would be like, "Why is she still playing that dump?" She played these venues in part because she never forgot her fans. It was these smaller venues and audiences that propelled her get to the top. Girrrrrrrrrl!!!!!! Selena is a legend! I'm from West Texas myself and a natural born TEJANA with a figure just like her! I can sing very beautifully as well. I used to perform for my school's Cinco de Mayo shows! 🇨🇱🤘❤️❤️❤️! Thank you for finally covering Selena ❤️. It made me cry 😭. She was one hell of a woman and performer!!!! I was 5 years old when she was killed and I cried like a baby. I ALWAYS prayed to God to have a big butt like her and a killer voice! Prayers answered 🙏. Amen to that lol! Anyhow, love from West Texas 🇨🇱❤️❤️❤️❤️

OMG! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! I’m so happy you did this!!! She is and will always be loved deeply. Natural talent, no earpieces, no auto tune, no of that. And yes, she tossed her earring and had a band-aid on her broken nail lol! Awesome!

You should check out her other performances. She started singing Spanish before she understood anything about it. She is the reason I sing still today. She was what I wanted to be like when I grew up and I'm working on it. Rip selena

Yes for Selena! Question though, why are there so many reactions to this performance or just Selena in general within the past month? I love all of the reactions, I’m just curious.

Brandon J me too. She’s been legend for years, but people really start reacting to her, especially this performance like non-stop. I’m curious too

Probably Netflix hyping up the new series about Selena.

Brandon J she’s become famous again with a whole new generation. Though here in Texas she has never lost that fame. She’s an idol to most of us. She never let money or fame get to her head. She didn’t live in nice houses, and drive a bunch of nice cars. She was as humble as could be, and always gave back to her community. She gave her soul to everyone.

Rose Mary Besu Right? She’s always been huge and you could always find a reaction to her if you searched for it, but now there are tons of reactions to this specific performance and performances from this concert that keep popping up. I’m happy to see people discover or revisit her and love her the way we all do. She was phenomenal.

Netflix just released the trailer to their series which will be covering her life.. so I guess there’s been a renewed resurgence of her popularity with the new generation

What beautiful memories. My fiancé and me had the pleasure of catching her show in early 1995 in Lake Tahoe, California. Emilio Navaira was the opening group. Tragically, both artists have left us. I was gobsmacked hearing a Brit review Selena. We’ll done!!! You aced it!

To Vocal Coach; thank you for the excellent review of Selena's disco medley; you mentioned at one point how her voice cracked; I'm sure you are aware that singing and dancing at the same time is exceedingly difficult, there is no lip syncing here, no auto tune, etc, it's all live, Selena was in excellent shape and never missed a beat, I'm old enough to have seen all the best and I've never seen anyone with stage presence like Selena.

I've been commenting a lot of times for you to react on her disco medley my goodness. Thanks Georgina

The Honest Vocal Coach Yes!!! Thank God! I’ve been waiting for this moment !!!! You finally reacted to the late, great Selena ... what a great reaction you did !!!!! Loved how you distinguished that Selena was vocalizing with broad vocals for the entire disco medley. Her voice was truly one of a kind .... and as for her figure, we all know that she worked for it. She made eating any food look that easy to pull off, especially pizza since that was her all time favorite. Ugh ... what a beautiful human being and outstanding, iconic singer and performer she established herself as. May Selena Rest In Peace .... she’s gone but never forgotten. Please react to her even more ... I think it’s pretty safe to say that this will be wanted due to popular demand. Thanks again !!! 🌸🌸🌸😉😉😜😜

Born in Monterrey, Mexico and grew up in Laredo, Texas....... this woman is a legend thru the Valley (El Paso to Brownsville) where she started and next watching an English coach decoding her style. It is an honor and an example that good music can be done. Her passion for the fans was unlimited. She is a diva, she is Selena. We miss her but only God knows why she is heaven. Maybe she is bringing smiles over there too! I never get tired of this Houston, TX concert. Saludos a todos raza!

You’re so freaking wholesome ❤️ Thank you for being respectful, I know in the UK people can be somewhat insensitive to Mexicans (I’m speaking from experience) and this was so refreshing. We appreciate you ❤️❤️

I grew up watching and idolizing Selena. She died when I was 6 and it was/still utterly devastating to know she’s not here anymore. Watching you watch her for the first time... just wow! It took me back to when I was 5, and dancing to her music in my room, ahhh. Thank you for that. This was really magical.

What makes Selena's story so amazing is the kind of support system she had. A Family that cultivated her talent from age 9 or something and by the age of 23; Sold Out Concert at the Houston Astrodome. Yea maybe her dad did live vicariously through his daughter but holy shit. Selena changed so much.
