What a fantastic medley from a great musical. When I was in college, I worked as a limousine chauffeur in Texas. This job brought me in contact with countless celebrities, but none were as memorable as the three days I spent with the recently departed Olivia Newton John. Her body guards were grumpy guys who instructed me to "not speak to Miss John." Turns out she was extremely friendly, and a total chatterbox, so we talked for about 72 hours straight, while driving around Austin and eating lots of Chinese food. Having had a crush on her since I first saw Grease, this remains one of my greatest memories.

I was in the US Navy back when the movie "Grease" came out. My ship was in port in Athens, Greece at the time. While I was on liberty, I found a theater showing Grease and went in. I figured I would at least enjoy the music, but because it was a musical they played it in English and ran Greek subtitles, so I actually enjoyed all of the movie. But the big shock came at the end for the song "The One That I Want". The entire Greek audience started singing along with the movie in accented English! Fun times and something I've never forgotten.

@dogsmusicbookstravelscience2 жыл бұрын
@@IamChevalier, yes, those were the original flash mobs. Here in South Africa similar things were done a good 20 years ago. People would start clucking like chicken, applause for no reason, freeze and what else, only to depart the scene as if nothing unusual had happened. The idea was to brigten the mundane urban life and give people something to talk about back at home. ("Honey you won't believe what happened at the mall today.") It has been replaced by the choreographed musical stunts, which are good too, but the true flash mobs used to be a lot more spontaneously organised events.

I shed two tears when I watch this; 1: The beauty of that moment. 2. How UTTERLY unthinkable that moment has been for a year. Let's remember how beautiful inspirational moments can be!
@grahamrogers33453 жыл бұрын
Only unthinkable because people have bought this crap. The population of the world wen UP last year by 85 million. UP Also Flu magically disappeared. The deaths were reassigned as Covid deaths. It has always been about control, coercion and forced jabs. That is why doctors who have any different opinion are from the government are banned form this platform. This is facism.

"Dancing in the Moonlight" , an old song says, ' you can't dance & stay uptight.. " actually..it suits our situation! I commented above about kindness.its long,but First, Let me say to the ppl pushing thru,, STOP FOR ONE MIN,& enjoy lifes surprises!! This is so fun! Secondly, I WISH I could be part of something this fun! Or at least witness one.. WHY DONT WE BRING IT BACK!? A drop of post covid, still alive- try to be happy !!??? NEXT, These ppl are dressed amazingly, and that place is GORGEOUS..🤭 Sadly, I honestly hate to say it,but I don't think this would be so well received here, in Self centered, 'Entitlement central' - 🏝 South Florida! I can hear, " look at her, she can't dance..", " move please, some of us have to get to WORK" ," I'm gonna miss the train..." ..And the rest have their air pods in and completely missed it.🙄 THE mask isn't just for YOURSELF,like a seatbelt,or helmet...IT'S for those around you, for the most part...like a condom.HE'S NOT GONNA GET PREGNANT,it may protect him from a disease, but he's putting it on for HER... If you still think ppl aren't dying, Join us in the ICU for a day..we just sent 2 pts within 4 weeks of eachother to wait for NEW LUNGS..42, & 45 yr old. Many died waiting. Vented,Ecmo @100%. Thankfully, whomever made this, figured out how to spare the under 30 ish generations...hmmmm. I taught my daughters, since they were little; "If you can't be nice, be quiet." You don't have to like everyone, agree with everyone, or think everyone will like you.But you do have to be kind...then move on...... Sometimes I hate everyone too🤣🙄, but we have to co exist .

Absolutely loved it! They did an amazing job bringing joy and happiness to everyone there. I hope that one day soon we will all be able to enjoy a flash mob sing and dance along in person. Meanwhile there is always youtube to remember the good old days while we create some new good old memories.

Such a terrific scene!!! Always love this music and the original film. There's something really special about seeing the song done by "ordinary folk" in a public setting. This flash mob thing is really fabulous.

I always loved flash mobs in general, not only because the music is always awesome but in addition, they reunite people of all origins and provide a shot moment of peace and joy in our/their souls and heart. Those kind of events should happen everywhere, in any city of the world. Where I live, I unfortunately never ever saw this happening and it is really a pity. I would be in first row! This masterpiece is one of my favorite ones EVER! It gives me goose bumps all the time I hear it! And I would have joined the team as if I was part of it! LOL!
