Which sometimes leads to hilarious results, I remember one Regional ran into a problem with using Pikachu's image because someone forgot to send a fax for permission (yes, they still use fax), but it was quickly fixed.

Fun fact about Ash's battle theme: his team was added for the anniversary, in version 2.24.0 of the game. A month later, with the version 2.25 update, they removed this battle theme from the game data (maybe a copyright thing, and they could only use the music for a limited time?), but Ash's event still had a day before it ended... so if you battled Ash after the update, it would be in silence because the battle theme was not in the data anymore.

About Cynthia's theme, when it was released Cynthia had Giratina as a partner, at the moment everyone was confused on why Cynthia would have Giratina, 1 month later Legends Arceus was released and the Volo revelation explained why.

I absolutely _love_ how Volo was already revealed _before_ Sygna Suit (Renegade) Cynthia & Giratina came out. When she was released with Giratina, no one suspected a thing. NO ONE SUSPECTED A THING. And then Legends Arceus dropped. I swear SSR Cynthia is the best foreshadowing Pokemon has ever pulled off.

cynthia, lance, steven may not be the most bombastic of the themes in this video, but they flow into eachother way more smoothly than they have any right to. thats its main appeal imo, just how well the themes work together.

Prestige Events are time trials where the top performing players get the best rewards. Steven's encounter theme is criminally underrated, I'm so glad it got a spotlight in his Decisive Battle theme. Especially as a Hoenn stan. And man, that Kanto trio medley! I love how the Trainer battle theme is based on the FRLG version, since that's where Leaf is from. I'm a sucker for that soundtrack.

Also do check it out that for Steven's decisive battle theme, the chorus part is a variation of his encounter theme. And Cynthia's decisive battle theme, that was ENTIRELY her encounter theme.
