Lear isn't the leader of Team Break! He's the king of Pasio and host of the Masters tournaments, which I guess makes him more of a Champion? Or a facility leader? Team Break doesn't really have a leader at all. Rachel and Sawyer, likewise, are his assistants. Paulo is a friendly rival, but... He's like "what if Hop took his losses even worse". He hasn't done anything crazy yet, but he's definitely too close to the edge for comfort... And the Battle Chatelaines also appeared in ORAS, which is why their battle theme in Masters is based on the Hoenn Battle Tower theme!

Paulo is hands down one of the best rivals in Pokemon. He starts off as this cheeky pushover Hop/Hau knockoff and gets a mental breakdown the more he loses to the player and now having this "evil" aura around him near the end of the main story

I love how Lillie in the main games is the adorable friend that must be protected, and in Masters EX she has a debilitating Clefairy, a nearly immortal Polteageist, an obnoxious Ribombee, or she brings out Lunala if she wants to absolutely clap someone. Each of her sync pair versions is quite usable and/or extremely strong. But no, smol innocent child.🤣

I was actually SUPER excited about Sycamore's theme because the regular Kalos trainer theme was changed up a bit and I didn't exactly love the change, so this theme having trainer theme makes it appealing. I need to 6* EX him as soon as possible.

Lear and his brigade aren't apart of Team Break. Lear is the King of Pasio and Rachel and Sawyer are his babysitters....uh I mean glorified butlers. Lear is actual pissed at Team Break for ruining his tournament. Paulo comes off as a friendly rival but after he loses to you he gets super salty but doesn't show it outwardly. This dude is literally pushing his Rockruff to the brink to get competitive results and is borderline about to join Giovanni. He has an salty evil aura now lol.

There are still some themes left like the generic trainer themes for each region. Sadly we don't have everything yet (somehow kanto is left). But some people like Zinnia and Sycamore got the generic theme incorporated into them. I think we've got Johto, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola and Galar trainer. There should be all wild pokemon themes though, but the instruments are pretty much the same.

The reason the Battle Chattelaine theme sounds like that is that it's a remix of the Hoenn Frontier Brain theme. In ORAS the Chattelaines got a remastered version of the Frontier Brain theme, as they were the closest those games had to a Battle Frontier.

Feels abit sad that you didn't like Zinnia and Sonia's theme that much, these 2 are my absolute favourites, but hey, thanks for making Masters's music more well known! There are still a few absolute bangers that I not sure if you will ever react, and they are hard to classify in any category, maybe 'Remix Mashup' is the best way to describe them: -Cynthia Decisive Battle! (Cynthia's 2nd battle theme) -Steven Decisive Battle! (Steven's 2nd battle theme) -Lance Leon & Cynthia battle remix -Red Blue Leaf battle remix Also the game has remix EVERY wild pokemon encounter theme in every gen as well, do check those out if you can! because sycamore is a trainer who fights in the masters and zinnia is trying to get over her old life as a lorekeeper, her theme represents that at the beginning but in the end it still reminds her that she is hoenn's lorekeeper

I'm reeling from her calling Sawyer and Rachel and then Lear the admins and leader of Team Break like, why would they bring problem to the island Lear built up and reigns over? Kinda counterproductive, don't you think? Also, 15:18, as much I appreciate that comment as a French guy, and as much as better it could be for Kalosian units, we're good for now. We have the three main legendaries, with Sycamore and Xerneas being a really OP unit for F2P players, and SSerena and Zygarde from the 2.5 anniversary who are just monstrous. We also already have Yveltal but this one is a bit overshadowed by Lugia in terms of Flying units I think. Diancie and Hoopa are already here too, so just Volcanion left. In terms of characters, we only have one gym leaders and two E4 membres left, plus the rivals but Shauna has been hinted at recently. They might get the starters, though I think Greninja will be kept for a Kalosian outfit Ash because of marketiiiiing~ Anyway, we're already nearly done with the basic characters, so we're Gucci there. Galar on the other hand hasn't nearly all of its characters in, even with the recent additions, so I think Galar should get a bit more love than Kalos for now. Sorry for the long explanation, but it was in case someone would have been curious about the details or something.

Personal headcanon that Dena knew a remaster of Zinna's already S+ Tier theme would've been too gamebreaking to release on it's own so they had to nerf it by splicing in the Gen 3 trainer theme, but that still wasn't enough to tone down the goosebump moments!

Everyone's saying Lear isn't Break's leader, but that's only half true. He was such an arrogant prick at the start that he pissed people off so much, random slighted civilians formed a team *just* to undermine him and his tournament. They don't actually have an admin, but they do exist specifically because of him! Also Paulo's an absolute fave. He spent the early story being the most generic friendly rival possible - specifically so that once you knock him out of the tournament, it's a shock to see him in cutscene, alone, being jealous and bitter about it. Since then, the story's been focusing on the villain teams - and they've been noticing the desire for power in Paulo. It's been suggested that his powerlessness during some traumatic event is pulling him, but because the power of traditional bonds failed him already against you, he's now more interested in dangerous options. It's a very interesting inversion of traditional rival growth, because even as we become closer friends now that we're not competing, he's seemingly sinking deeper into depression and walking closer and closer to making a terrible mistake; the question is *what* that mistake will be.

Tbf, at the start, the writers were clearly trying to get you to believe that Lear was the leader of Team Break. Then, Chapter 10 hits and gives you the plot twist that he is, in fact, NOT the leader of Team Break, and is actually at odds with them. They took the obvious plot twist and used it to their advantage to surprise everyone with the true twist.

I like how Lisia's Theme doesn't have too much pop, honestly to me it sounds like one of the intermission themes you hear in the main games when connecting to the internet and waiting for a trade/battle. Also Sycamore's theme is good but it could've been so much better, imagine if instead of the Gen 6 trainer theme as the "filler" they used Xerneas' theme! The Gen 6 legendary theme with a french spin and shorten build up would've been 💋👌

This is probably a bit late but aside from the Giovanni battle team (not the Decisive battle theme, this one belongs to Kanto) (kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4KTdqyNf52Bbpo), Lear has also another theme, it's called Trainer's Eyes Meet (kzbin.info/www/bejne/haW0paKBaNZ7asU), it's very heavy on the violins and personally I think it's the best original song in Masters. Would be cool if you could include it with other songs next time you do a tier list :)
