I'm old and I've heard many fantastic bands over my many years. Countless bands have released great songs but none have released as many as Band Maid. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say they are truly a miracle. The reason I think they are the best rock band in history is not only their songs but their Humanity. I honestly mean better than the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and so many more. The previous all have great songs but they have many that I skip over. Not so with Band Maid. Those other bands have nothing regarding their Humanity and love for their fans like Band Maid does. As far as I can remember none of those other bands have ever written songs dedicated to their fans. I love them because they have brought music back into my life. I had given up on music many years ago because it wasn't interesting and didn't appeal to me. I wish they would have come out 30 years ago so I would be able to hear 30+ years of Band-Maid. Thank you Band Maid for existing. I dearly love each and everyone of you.

Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid. So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘Thx, Jules!

Jules, totally understood you. For sure, Band-Maid creates an instantly memorable song with great hooks, riffs, etc. But the thing that makes it really engaging is _how_ they lay down instrumental and vocal parts. Sometimes it's subtle changes, sometimes they're more complex, but always interesting.

I love how the rhythmic chaos of the verses resolves just in time to relieve your anxiety and lift you three feet off the ground in the chorus.

Jules, "Shambles" was commissioned as an outré for a manga (fight based) anime film. The music almost makes you feel you were in the contest. They are so damned talented!!!!!

Search "bandmaid shambles drums only" someone extracted Akane and it reveals a totally mental performance. So subtle the way she varies everything and pushes and pulls the tempo dropping back behind the click and pushing forward. All completely "unnecessary" in most terms in most bands but it's like sort of total prog/jazz fusion solo. Each of them are playing to the same ethos but in this track Akane schools every drummer on the planet.

“A lot of Ups” lol, great description. BM plays the off beats more than actual beats sometimes it feels like. Kanami loves syncopations.

Jules -- You can get that dirty string ring from a longer neck guitar, hard pick attack and slapping, drop tuning, type of string selection, and effect(s) pedals. MISA does all these things and more.🤘😝

I’ve been riding with you for all your pigeonhole adventures with Band Maid; however, there is one particular song that deserves your insights and analysis 🧐 A unique tone and structure you have never heard from them before. “From Now On” Please have good headphones 🎧 ❤ PS From a bassist, you’re describing “presence” in the attack. There are adjustments you can make to give clearer string and note articulation without losing the bottom end 👍🏽

MISA recorded this through her Orange Amps. It has that Orangey Growl, especially during the first part of the second verse when the guitars drop back. All that tube saturation! But this was an anime theme commission for the netflix anime, Kengan Ashura. There is an Official LIVE Video for it with the anime playing on the screen behind them.

Such an awesome band! I know this is a produced video, but as I watch live performances, they are still such a tight band!! Great reaction.
