There is still one song from same rehearsals Land of Snow and Sorrow. Really nice song also. Whole Forest Seasons album is great. Awaken From the Dark Slumber (spring), Forest That Weeps (summer), Eternal Darkness (autumn, best black metal song ever 😉) and Loneliness (winter). First album Wintersun has really great songs like Death and Healing and Starchild and Sadness and Hate and Winter Madness. Jari Mäenpää (leadsinger guitarist) is mastermind behind the band. Wintersun started as his soloproject. He was in Ensiferum and had to leave cause Wintersun took so much time. Other wisards are Teemu Mäntysaari (guitarist backing vocals), Jukka Koskinen (bass backing vocals) and of course human metronome Kai Hahto (also drummer of Nightwish). Also they hired other guitarist Asim Searah cause Jari wanted to consentrate on singing.

They are from Finland. The drummer is the drummer in Nightwish. Very good music comes from Northern Europe, especially Sweden and Finland. Have you tried Amorphis? song suggestion: Amongst Stars, They are also from Finland!..

I have always loved that play between the guitar and the vocals starting at 11:38, probably my favourite part of all wintersun songs. Possibly all music altogether, it's just so good. Eargasm every time it hits the high notes with "BUT NOTHIIIING HAS CHAANGEEED". And it's preceded by a delicious bass solo and followed by one of their best guitar solos, which makes it even better (if that were even possible).

At some point you might want to listen to Amorphis "The Bee" lyrics video or "Death of a King" official video. Saw Amorphis three nights in a row, mid October. Was impressed. Amorphis "Smirhereens/The Smoke" live in Oulu is a nice one. There are not too many good live performance videos of Amorphis. "The Bee" in Wacken is quite good, if my memory serves me right. Sonata Arctica "White Pearl Black Oceans" Kemi Open Air 2009 is another band/song I like. Sonata has many good songs and live videos.

the live performance of "The Bee" (Wacken) has horrible audio, I wouldn't recommend. All the "Forging a Land of Thousand Lakes" tour (Oulu) videos seem to be good.

If it comes to compositions in Wintersun..Jari´s the man u need to talk to :D He makes all the compositions, mixing, mastering himself. For the albums he eve (mostly) plays all the instruments himself but the drums. Wintersun is his Baby and it has grown from 1997 to now to a beautiful child :)

@@JimGames Did you recognize KAI ⭐ on drums? He's played with NW since 2015. Wintersun is mostly studio. So, being a drum God, KAI does both.
