The film: The Leather Boys, 1964. Story time: I was working as a cameraman for SXSW after graduating from UT film school. Im terrible with dates but I think it was maybe 2006/2007. I was late they gave my Beastie Boys shoot to someone else. I was bummed. They asked me to go through a pile of rock demos submissions and eliminate the terrible bands and keep the good. I’d never heard of GIAC at the time. The supervisor veto’d my vote to keep you guys in the YES pile. I fought for y’all. The music was rad and different than a lot of the Pixies wannabes in the pile. Your voice was fierce and cut me deep. The groove was fresh. He took a day off I snuck y’all back in the YES pile. I had no idea y’all were already on your way and probably didn’t need that lol. Oh well, don’t regret getting fired after catching y’all’s set that first SXSW. That Texas punk sound cut the audience in half. So proud of you and Fea! See you June 1st! Be the first time in maybe 20 years?

What he smells like ... oh incense I thought you were going to say little .... Oh you were friends with Boz Boorer?! That's cool. I have the best, sorry obviously not THE best, but a great Boz story. I met him in Australia shortly after he (and the other boys) joined "the band" it was 1992. Opening for Morrissey is a big deal, just in case you need reminding!! I just subscribed. I'm severely impressed.
