Got a ticket for Phoenix. Looking forward to it.

Unfortunately I live in Fly-over-Ohio, so it isn't going to happen. Never the less, they had to move to a bigger venue in Boston because of the ticket demand. I hope that it happens for every venue on this tour. Maybe it will embolden the confidence of the promoters in the not too distant future to book some Midwest dates.
@paulwilson79892 жыл бұрын
@@scottmcgregor4829 I just checked through a bunch of the venues and it looks like 3-4 are already sold out or looking for larger venues . Phoenix looks like it's very close to being sold out since only the VIP tickets are available now. Maybe the demand will cause them to choose more dates later. It's interesting that they are only covering the far west coast, the far north east coast, and a few cities along the southern border. They are leaving a lot out. People are just getting off work right now and maybe in the next 6 hours will see even more sell out. Maybe.

I have noticed that on Unseen World that Band Maid is getting as daring vocally in their compositions as they do instrumentally. Miku is the secret weapon on her vocals the same way Michael Anthony was in Van Halen. He really kicked those choruses up to the next level. In a completely different vein,Chris Squire was the secret weapon in all of his vocal harmony work with Yes. His harmonies were almost as important to their sound as Jon Anderson's vocals. Now we have Miku who has the vocal power of Michael Anthony for power harmonies,as well as the invention, imagination, and skills,of Chris Squire. That, my friends is supernatural talent. Band Maid really are superheroes.

@@johnbateman3432 as a matter of fact, I was just listening to Manners today and was thinking the very same thing. It is strange that according to Misa she does not take her inspirations, from anyone that I would call a virtuoso, yet her playing has much more prowess than the musicians that she has named.

For most people Unseen World is a showcase of the "power trio", and they're right!, there's so much insane stuff coming from Kanami, Misa and Akane... BUT, i think Saiki and Miku's absolutely amazing work should not be underestimated. Both ice queen and little pigeon carries so much of the songs and make them stand out, and "Why Why Why" is one of the best examples By the way, the okyu-ji in Boston will be on my birthday!. Too bad I'm European... lol
@stealthcabbie13362 жыл бұрын
Kanami's solo reminds me of Robert Fripp (King Crimson - Actually I recommend you have a listen to their "Red" album if you haven't already heard it. ) I was gonna say that "Sayonakidori" was the sleeper of the album..... but so many people have responded to that, that it isn't...... I love Sayonakidori.... my top 3...... However, yes, " Why, Why, Why" it is the sleeper song of the album..... a bit experimental, but it's many of my playlists. It's a really cool interesting song. One for fans who REALLY know what Band-Maid is about.

"Why, Why, Why" is three songs, three songs, three songs in one and I absolutely LOVE IT! Saiki KILLS me when she sings in her lower register and Akane just slaughters me...all the time. Thanks Wave! 🕊
@lurkmerchant Жыл бұрын
Yeah Saiki's range has gotten a lot wider. And it's actually showcasing Saiki's range and Miku's unique vocal that's punchy and cute at the same time. Usually instruments seem to appeal more to musicians in general, which is inevitable but recently I am equally amazed by Saiki's vocal ability, lung capacity and rhythmic sense, etc.

Band Maid continue to develop way beyond their early days. Each member has improved to an extraordinary degree and Kanami's genius is pushing them into whole new areas and the rest of the band are talented enough to answer the challenge. I think Kanami is now outclassing her idol Santana. He is a great guitarist but has his 'box', Kanami has no box, no restrictions just musical genius.

I noticed that on a lot of this album (Saiyanakidori notwithstanding), it's less about Miku singing the backing vocals and more about Miku being a hype-man. She does a lot of shouting, random sound effects and random dialogue. These are very prominent in No God, After Life, Manners, Why Why Why, Black Hole and a little in HGK. To be fair, Miku's hype-man work in after-life and manners are my absolute favorite parts of those songs ("Don't say you love me!" and "Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah, Yeah!")
@Retec2 жыл бұрын
I really enjoy her backing vocals on Warning, as well as a few others on this album. They are certainly not gone. But I also love all the "hype"/energy she brings with these fun interjections.

Kanami sometimes uses the "woman" tone (check out a Rhett Shull video RSB68OsyqOw) or listen to Cream "Sunshine of Your Love". One way of doing it is by using only the neck pickup, or by using both pickups and rolling off the tone control of the bridge pickup. You can also change the tone controls on the amp to get a version of it but it's hard to do on stage. You mentioned Brian May; his "Red Special" has phase switches, and putting the neck and bridge pickups out-of-phase will remove most of the fundamental and leave only harmonics. That's how he gets his very pure and very high pitches on "Bohemian Rhapsody". Doesn't Kanami's "Angry Larry" have phase switches, too?

This was instantly on my short list of all time fave BM songs. I can't get over how many ideas they fit into one song. I don't know if you missed or just didn't mention Miku's whispering part at around 5:18 of your video. I've noticed her doing that on quite a few songs now, it sounds like she's breathing right into your ear. She must be stopped!

Once again BandMaid puzzles the crap out of you Wave with all their unique, random, unexpected twists "What the heck WAS THAT! And does anyone know the total count on how many times Wave has said, "I haven't heard anything quite like that before" in BandMaid reactions? I have it at 163! It might be a little low. Your excitement level increases every time you do a BM reaction at the about the same rate YOYOKA's drumming skills do, and we all know that's through the roof.
